No. not that Maverick, ice man. This one:

I enjoyed his acting over the years.

I don't usually give more than a "huh, too bad." when an actor dies, but I will miss James Garner. My dad and I used to watch all the westerns and cop shows together so he was always a predominant figure in our screen time.
Garner is one I will truly miss.
-
He'll always be Jim Rockford to me.

Before I wanted to be Sonny Crockett I wanted to be Rockford.
-
Jim was smooth with the ladies, drove a muscle car and lived in a trailer--just like me in Conway. I always loved Garner. Great actor and seemingly nice man.

How many are left from the old school generation of actors?
With Garner gone that now leaves Kirk Douglas, Clint Eastwood...anyone else? Abe Vigoda maybe. Most of the good uns are gone.

Tommy Lee Jones. Although he may only be like 45. Hard to tell. he has looked eighty since he was fifteen!
Donald Sutherland.
Bob Newheart is still kicking.
Ernest Borgnine.
The Bobs, Dinero and Duvall.
Michael Caine.
Pacino.
Christopher Walken.
Connery.
-
Conway?

WiregrassTiger must have been WireRoadTiger at some point

I have been recording old episodes of "The Rifleman".
It is interesting to see some young actors who went on to be famous.
Michael Landon.
Dennis hopper.
Richard Anderson (six million dollar man)
Denver Pyle (Uncle Jessie)
Jack Elam.
Lee Van Cleef
Claude Akins
Buddy Hackett
Sammy Davis jr
Vic morrow
Robert Culp
Several others.
The funny thing I saw when looking these up is that some of the actors played on 8 or 9 episodes with different names/characters. I guess folks just forgot over time and they brought back the same actor in a different role/episode.
I did not, however, see Garner on this show.
It is a good show. Old, but back when shows had morals.

Sad to see him go.
Quick fact: He was a big marijuana supporter, smoker for 40+ years. Said that he didn't know where he would be without it and helped him with his arthritis.
