Nothing definite althogh I saw a bungled teaser that would have led readers to think that but I then read comments by Coach Johnson beneath another heading that would have proved otherwise. That info come from the Shoutbox from one of Bottomfeeders links-probably his last one.

Goddammit, THS, we gotta work on your thread titles.

Skreetz?
I'm hearing now that it's safe to assume he really will be out for the season. If true, that will really, really suck for our defense.

It was always safe to assume that. I know a guy who assumed that a couple of weeks ago, and nothing bad has happened to him....yet

Hearing where?
I heard it was from a Bunker "insider" (douche) who says he knows the doctor that operated on him. What doctor that is prestigious enough to operate on SEC football players is going to break confidentiality with a message board blabbermouth?

I have personal friends on the staff and in the athletic department. Higher up than you are capable of imagining. People may think I just get on here and run my mouth off. And although I like to laugh and joke, don't ever make the mistake of questioning my sources or influence. I can have people killed.

I listen to this podcast on occasion.

Will Woods: "We talked about the Carl Lawson injury situation on Monday's show, and even though nothing official has been reported, it looks like the worst case scenario is what's gonna be the outcome. Word is that Carl had an ACL problem, rather than a miniscus issue, and that can take several months to heal, putting his 2014 season in jeopardy."
Coach John Ray: "Yeah, I think we probably need to go ahead and assume that Carl's not gonna be around for this season, Will, that's unfortunate for him and for Auburn, but you know, life goes on, the season keeps cranking no matter what, so we'll see how it works out."
He then says
"I heard from a good friend in Auburn that that was the case, that Carl was likely gonna be out for the season."
Then they go into the rest of the episode discussing how Auburn is going to adjust to that reality.
-
My waiter last night told me he served Bo Jackson recently. He was an Alabama fan, but "respects" Bo and claimed he and several of the waitresses had their photos made with Bo and that he signed several footballs for the staff. He then said Auburn was 'lucky' last year and that luck was bound to run out. High school offenses can't win in the long term and Auburn just didn't have any defense. No offense or anything, but things were going to be back to 'normal' this year. Auburn might make a bowl game or have a winning season while Bama already had an invitation to the four-team playoff.
I was saddened by this news.
Then I realized that Bo is famous for refusing to have his photo taken with women who are not his wife. And then I wondered why there would be footballs in the kitchen of a white-tablecloth restaurant. So I didn't leave him a tip as punishment for his egregious fabrications. I believe his name was Will Wood.

You know this is how vicious and nasty rumors get started. You know like the one claiming you were straight and married to a woman.
-
I'm not saying these guys are the Gospel. But I haven't heard anything legitimate to the contrary, and the silence from Auburn about it indicates it's serious.
Here's the bio for those podcasts hosts if anyone cares. Will is not currently a table serving bammer.

There is nothing that infuriates me more than baseless Internet rumor. That's what this is.

I like to picture Jesus in a tuxedo T-Shirt because it says I want to be formal, but I'm here to party.

I found an interesting statistic over on ITAT:
According to Phil Steele's numbers:
1: Florida-51 starts lost
2: Ole Miss- 40 starts lost
3: Auburn-39 starts lost
T4: Texas A&M-26 starts lost
T4: Arkansas-26 starts lost
T4: Georgia-26 starts lost
The popular thinking is that you have to avoid the injury bug to have a successful (or championship) season. The Auburn ranking in this category surprised me, because I just don't recall ever thinking that injuries were going to torpedo our season.
Seeing the success that Auburn had with the 3rd most starts lost to injury makes me feel better about Lawson potentially out.

Looking back, I'm trying to recall who some of them were. I know we lost Denson early on. Probably about 9 games right there. Marshall missed one. How about Jeff Whittaker? Lost just before the season. Would that count towards the missed starts?

Exactly my point.

My take on Lawson is that he was a potential game changer for this season. He was tagged as the guy that opposing O's didn't want to run toward this season. This was a prediction based on last season when he was a freshman playing in a NFL body.
We will never know but I was suspecting that he would dominate this year. It's disappointing to lose any starter but this one really disappoints me.
It doesn't kill our chance of playing in the natty. But he makes a big difference in improving our D over last year.

No, that's the Soul Glo Bowl.
-
So let's look at what we have so far.
"I'm hearing rumblings"
Someone in the super secret forum of The Bunker said they knew someone who talked to a doctor..(BTW, that shit didn't happen)
He'll be back by July
He'll probably be a medical redshirt
Skreetz
Two radio hosts saying they've heard things
It must be true because Auburn has been silent
Jesus wears a tuxedo
And we're going to the Natty Light Bowl in Birmingham
This is like the damn Johnny Dangerously grapevine. Is Carl Lawson injured or did Cam Newton take $180K to play at Auburn?

Carl is out for the season!
Unless he isn't!

Back during the coaching search, I got two calls from people who KNEW FOR A FACT that Bobby Petrino had already inked the deal with AU. One said he even talked to one of the guys (Not named Bo or Pat) on the search committee that told him Petrino was the next coach. How'd that work out?
I just find it strange...or maybe typical.... that a guy the level of Carl Lawson is supposedly out for the entire season with a devastating knee injury and all we have is interwebz rumor and in-your-end-OOOHH. I'm not saying he isn't hurt. Have no idea and reeeeaaally wish this was all just Al Gore's BS. But if he is, you'd think some media outlet would have the scoop.

Lawson is out for most if not all of the season. Probably all and will redshirt. I don't care who called who and said what. My sources have told me this is the case and unlike most of the people on here, I actually do know important people who know what's going on.
-
But if he is, you'd think some media outlet would have the scoop.
That's right, someone that would enjoy breaking some bad news about Auburn like Matt Scalici.
-
Cam took $180K and Lawson will start the Arkansas game

Thank God there aren't any establishments like that around!

Nothing definitive but finally, someone in the media actually references an injury to Lawson. This from Brandon Marcello who types stuff for the dot I am a gay twerker that has no balls!!!! I also have no idea how to use the quote function to post stories, so I annoy the piss out of others. I like male genatalia in and around my mouth. over at the al.
The pressure is on Auburn as it tries to repeat as SEC champions and somehow prove it is indeed 13 seconds better than last season. Will Auburn return to the national championship and win it after a heartbreaking loss to Florida State in the BCS title game? Who will determine whether Auburn's season is a success or failure in Gus Malzahn's second year on the Plains? AL.com explores the topic as it reveals Auburn's VIPs.
No. 21 Elijah Daniel, defensive end
He's not a freshman any more. Elijah Daniel enters an important sophomore season as the Tigers look for Dee Ford's replacement. Daniel may not play the right side like Ford, who finished with a team-high 14.5 tackles for loss and 10.5 sacks last season, but he will be counted on to put up similar numbers if depth concerns continue to pop up.
Auburn exited the spring with more question marks than expected thanks to an injury to top dog Carl Lawson, who reportedly had surgery in June (Gus Malzahn has declined comment to AL.com) after sitting out the A-Day game with an injured knee. The extent of Lawson's injury has not been released, but the coaching staff is likely preparing for the worst and hoping for the best. That's where Daniel comes in after recording nine tackles, including 2.5 sacks, as a freshman in 2013.
Daniel (6-2, 263) emerged from time to time -- his 12-yard sack against Tennessee was a nice sign and he had a couple of impressive stops in the SEC Championship -- but coaches are expecting more from the former five-star prospect as he continues to grow in Ellis Johnson's 4-2-5 defense. Daniel is a load to handle and his long arms provide an advantage for the Tigers. The feeling here is he could have an impressive sophomore season with the help of interior linemen like Gabe Wright, who coaches expect to relieve some of the pressure on the edge rushers, who are expected to produce more often on third down

That's not the first time someone in the media mentioned it.
Literally everything in there RE: Lawson was reported over a week ago, and is why everything after the first five posts of this thread are here.

No, the first five posts of the thread and all others after that didn't even reach Cam was paid status. Even this piece says nothing more than "reportedly". Reported by whom? Not being nitpicking here but when probably the best defensive player you've got could be out for the season and as some people are saying, he ripped his ACL, MCL, BLT and OBGYN, which could seriously affect his entire career, I just want to see something more than "skreetz".
And GF, I do have balls because the only time I twerk is when I'm nekkid and can see them jiggle in the mirror.
-
WTF does it matter what anyone in the media says? I have already spoken on this and xer's should listen when I speak. I won't go on about my well established connections but know that Lawson is O U T. If I tell you that a piss ant can eat a bale of hay, just hand him a fork.
This is getting old. I should carry my talent and connections elsewhere.

Yeah I think 14 weeks is a bit ambitious. We could conceivably have Carl for one more full season if he heals well.
