Your family has a place of business in Auburn, what kind of establishment is it, and how tough was the reception for you and your family after you chose to sign with Alabama?
It is a convenience store. It is actually close to the stadium and close to where people tailgate. It was pretty rough at first. Before I committed to the UA, I kind of knew it was going to happen. It wasn’t really a shock to me. My parents and I had discussed it, I just didn’t know how bad it was going to get. But to be honest, I didn’t care because it was my decision and I felt like making my own decision was the best thing for me. At the same time I am the one that is going to doing three-four years, sweating those hot summers out trying to pave my way and achieve my goals. I had to have the mindset and just block out all the people that were talking about me. I’m sure I’m not the only athlete that has gone through this, even on the other levels, but I learned from it and I’m going to keep moving forward and making myself better.
How is the business doing now four months after your decision?
It is doing pretty good. The University of Alabama fans were coming down from Tuscaloosa to show support and that definitely proved to me that I made the best decision by signing with the University of Alabama.. It really meant a lot to me and is why I love the fans.
When did you actually make the final decision to sign with the University of Alabama?
I actually had a good idea on the day of (February 5th) that I was going to Alabama, but as the time got closer and closer to commit, my mind started to change. I started to think about my family, letting the AU family down, all those things were running through my head. I had spent a lot of time forming a relationship with the (AU) coaches and had experienced the fans my whole life coming to games (at AU), so all those things were running through my mind. Ultimately, at the end of the day, I had to think about myself and where I wanted to be and what goals I wanted to achieve in three years. Alabama was the best place for me to go. It came down to three things for me: 1. The school everyone wanted to go to: (AU) 2. The school I needed to go to: UA 3. The school I wanted to go to: UCLA. I chose the one I need to go to: The University of Alabama.

This doesn't raise a single eyebrow.
He wanted to go to UCLA, but needed to go to Alabama. Why?

Don't miss out on the fact that his plan is to go for three years. Maybe UCLA stressed the "student" part of "student-athlete."

I tried goat one time. In comparison to chicken, I'd say they have bigger vaginas.

Stop blaming the goats. They have no way to defend themselves. When RWS gets his lust on, some poor goat's gonna' get humped.

You guys can make fun all you want but if this guy plays anything like his father when he was the number 1 ranked running back in the country out of high school, he will transfer to Chattanooga.

I could make fun of the family and their motives but I think this kid will be as good for the Turds on defense as Yeldon is on offense and that's pretty damn good.

You may be right jmar. And if you are, that means his backup will be better than he is--(according to their fans).

Yeah well their entire fanbase was duped into believing Bryant wore houndstooth.

I don't think you can constantly fumble the ball on defense.

That was the reason why Evans "needed" to go there. Scratch your back, scratch mine.

Yeah, WTF is up with that?
So Alabama fans drive to Auburn right off campus to "show support" of his parents' nickle & dime convenience store? How does that even make sense?
