I hope Jason Campbell makes him carry an Auburn backpack at every practice.

This mccarron douche is the Kim Kardashian of football. A celebrity for no apparent reason and one with no discernible talent.

The only rumor I have heard about poor ole aj is that he is actually straight.

He thinks he's gonna get to hold a clipboard for a couple of years and then get a chance.

This guy will be lucky if he makes the third QB position. If not, he will not be kept on the practice squad. I have said all long, his game will not translate to the NFL. Besides, he's hurt.

Love that the takeaway from those articles isn't "WTF, the pariah for player saftey in regards to the HUNH is making players play hurt, ruining their careers", it's "Golly, imagine how even greater they would have been if he were healthy! Definitely would have beaten the barners, that's for sure!"

Retroactive injury champs.

I think McCarron is a douche and I really don't like him.

However, with that said, Alabama is going to miss him next year. They didn't have to throw a lot, but when they did, McCarron could do it. He had an above average arm and was pretty damn accurate. Plus, he didn't make a lot of stupid mistakes. For the most part, that dude played pretty damn well at Alabama and they are going to hurt without him next year...

I disagree about the "above average" arm.

Look at the Iron Bowl.  On their long TD pass he threw the ball absolutely as far as he possibly could and it went less than 40 yards in the air.   I can throw it 30-35 right now and I haven't tossed a football in anger in 20 years.

The guy never had to throw in traffic or thread a needle. All he had to do was loft it up to his superior wide open WRs.

That scenario RARELY happens in the NFL. Murray will play before this guy.

Let's go.  Line off 30 yards and if I can't throw a football that far, I'll eat a houndstooth baseball cap.

Quote
A lot of people don't realize I wasn't healthy at Alabama," McCarron said. "I sacrificed a lot to play for coach Saban and that university; I played through a lot of injuries and we never leaked it because that's just the way it is.

THAT UNIVERSITY.  Ooooh.  The bloom done come off the rose, y'all.

Translation:  If this NFL gig don't work out, you bitches better make sure I get taken care of, cuz I know where the bodies are buried.

I love how the local radio guys in B'ham are glossing over this.  I'm sure it's the same around the state.

Translation - "I am better than the University of Alabama, and they were lucky I was there to play football for them.  I did so much for them, but I am not part of the University of Alabama nation."

Also, I love how the talking point is - "Why did AJ McCarron drop?"

He didn't drop.  He went right where he should have gone and no one except Macaroon and Turd fans expected him to go higher.

Not sure if you're listening to finebaum, but the bammers including finebaum are bashing the fuck outta McCarron.

Luckily I'm not.  I only heard the OD and the Roundtable.

And this is more signs of the end, right?  It feels like 2000-2006.  Alabama fans gnashing their teeth on their own players and coaches.  High expectations leading to dismal defeats.

If Coker is less than what they (uat fans) are expecting, then it'll be a interesting season, that's for sure.

Or maybe he owned a LeBaron.

Or...

Fuck it.  This didn't help me at all.  What movie made Jon Voight a football coach?

God bless you, brother!

After walking the batter with the "dipping a grilled cheese sandwich dick first into a bowl of chili" comment in the horse thread, I was beginning to think I'd lost sight of the strikezone..

Agree. He's the best overall QB talent they've had since Jeff Rutledge and more mobile and accurate than Barker. I saw him connect on those long outs which are generally the toughest throws and he regularly connected with the deep ball when a receiver broke open. The Turd run game allows that to happen as does our own. I don't have to like him anymore than I do Aaron Murray but they were both very good.
The schedule sets up for Coker to ease in slowly-with their talent that shouldn't be too hard.
