Title: Golf in Atlanta...
Post by: AuburnChopper 3.0 on August 18, 2008, 06:25:07 PM
Where's a decent place to take a customer in Atlanta to play golf that won't cost me (okay, my company) hundreds?

I'm staying in Alpharetta tonight and tomorrow....

If you play at Stone Mountain...which is a decent course...jump in the lake on Number 10 I think it is and see if you can find my 8 iron...

How 'bout just a course that doesn't have folks stopping for 10 minute plus, non-golf related, social gatherings in the middle of the fairway, while 2 groups are waiting on the tee box 200 yards behind you....   eh hem....

May not be convenient but you can't go wrong with The Frog.

Cheap, community courses where you're guaranteed to get hit by a ball and that are inside the 285 bypass:

Bobby Jones Golf Course
http://bobbyjones.americangolf.com/ (http://bobbyjones.americangolf.com/)

Shitstain Chastain Golf Course
http://www.golfatlanta.com/courses_northfulton.htm (http://www.golfatlanta.com/courses_northfulton.htm)

If you want nicer, then go with Saniflush's recommendation...can't beat that course.  Similar courses (in terms of upkeep, difficulty, and price) to the Frog that I know about are

BridgeMill Golf Course
www.bridgemillathleticclub.com (http://www.bridgemillathleticclub.com)

Wolfcreek Golf Course
http://www.wolfcreekgc.com/ (http://www.wolfcreekgc.com/)

You'll have to drive at least 30-45 minutes for these three.

Stone Mountain has two nice courses as well that are one step down from these three.
