Make sure you back that shit up on the field.
Auburn defensive end Dee Ford recently made headlines for calling Jadeveon Clowney out and saying he was the best pass rusher in the upcoming NFL Draft.
A day after his comments, Ford withdrew from the combine because of a medical issue. However, he was back and better than ever at Auburn’s Pro Day.
The Senior Bowl MVP wowed scouts with 29 reps of 225 pounds and his 4.53 40. Clowney recorded 21 reps and the same exact 40 time. That means Dee Ford made some money today.
There are some concerns about which position he’ll play in the NFL, but the reality is, he’s athletic to play either defensive end or rushing linebacker. It will depend largely on which team drafts him and the defensive scheme they run. But one thing is for sure – just turn Ford lose in the backfield. He wants to get after the quarterback, and he will be an asset for any team in the upcoming NFL Draft.
Ford’s stock was already rising prior to laying down a nice 40 time, and you can bet this will help create some additional buzz. Several project Ford to be a late first-round pick this May.

At the combine, Ford was listed at 6'3" 252. I believe Clowney goes about 6'5" 270. Think about what it's like to face athletes like this in the SEC, week in and week out. And 29 reps with 225? Sheezus Cripes!!!

I'm 5'9" 220 run about a 5.5 forty (that's probably being generous) and can rep 225 about 10 times on a good day. That's why I play the position of Armchair QB.
