He turned down USC for Washington?

He must think that he could be as secure at Washington as he was at Boise no matter what...

He's a real go getter I tell ya...

That's a lateral move at BEST.  Boise was at least competitive most years.

However, I wouldn't necessarily want to coach at USC either.  Too many freaks.

Don't know about that, Get the program back on its feet and you really don't have to recruit, you have the great weather, storied program and your main rivals are Oregon that has the great facilities and Stanford standards are too high for the common athlete.

Every now and then a little freak is good for the soul. (As long as you don't get caught) See BP.

Chris Petersen's a different kind of person than most big name coaches.  He's not one that enjoys the big media spotlight, which is a big reason why he stayed at Boise so long.  He probably feels he can live a similar lifestyles at Washington while actually having the chance to compete for national championships.

It's really not implausible.

I think Oregon's on a decline.  Washington just has to put together a good team and beat Stanford.  Win the Pac 12, and there's a good chance they're in the playoffs.

Agree. They have 15 PAC 10 titles, a nc and have been to 34 bowls. They're a decent program.

That '91 team that split the championship with Miami was not joke.  Emtman was an absolute beast before his knees gave out on him in the NFL (damn astroturf).
