Love Marshall, he's the biggest single positional upgrade from last year, but our offensive MVP is Tre Mason or a group award to the O-Line.

At least McBadtattoo is far enough down that if Winston gets convicted of raping a bus load of baby nuns he won't make up enough ground on the other two to win.

He would be a less deserving winner than Ingram.  I can't see how the bammers are justifying him being in the running for it.  All they can say is look at his career, well, it's not a fucking lifetime achievement award.

I haven't listened to much sports talk radio this week, but last week the talking heads were all such dipshits about McTatt:

"Well, first off this isn't a lifetime achievement award...but when you look at McTatt's body of work...the championships.  He deserves it."

What?

Jason Whitlock said the same last night. Face palm.

He also said Winston can win it next year. Therefore it should be aj. I usually like Whitlock.

Yeah. It's not a lifetime achievement award, but this year he'll neither compete in the SEC or BCS championships, so he definitely deserves the 2013 Heisman.

Also if it's about being a QB and "just winning", and we acknowledge that it's a year to year award, if we're not giving it to Winston, Marshall should be #2 in line.

Also, there's this:
Quote
@ESPNStatsInfo
Heisman candidate? Nick Marshall's adjusted Total QBR since Oct. 1 is 87.0, 3rd in FBS (Winston, Mariota) http://es.pn/175I72v (http://es.pn/175I72v)

2013 SnagStats

Jameis Winston  12-0

3,490 yards passing  35 TD  8 INT  218-317  69%  192.6 QB Rating

AJ McChestTat  11-1

2,676 yards passing  26 TD  5 INT  207-306  68%  166  QB Rating

Yes, I clearly see the argument for giving McTraitorFucker the Heisminz

Using that logic, the 09 Heisman should have been Colt McCoy (which was the right call then)

Ingram won it for carrying Alabama over SC with 200 or so and then having a decent game in the SEC- G

Tre's body of work is exponentially greater than the puffy ewok's. it's not even close.

Voters are idiots

1,621 yards and 22 TD's.  Bad azz.  I did see this quote in an al.crumbs article on Mason getting Heisman recognition.  Answering the question of whether Tre should get an invite.  So, since he's one of, if not the best back in the country....but hasn't been pimped....

"It's borderline because it's so late in the process," said Chris Huston of HeismanPundit.com. "So much of it is about name recognition."

Honestly, I kinda hope Winston gets it for 2 reasons, One maybe it will make Tre want to come back and win it next year and B. outside of Cam Newton...(who oh by the way played his worst game all season in the MNC) whens the last time you saw a Heisman winner do well after they won the thing?

Perfect (long range) storm.

We win it all this year.
Everybody who can come back comes back for next year.
Mason wins the Heisman.
We win all again next year.

I think he returns.  The following are near certainties:

Entire offense, less Prosch, returns.
Will begin the season ranked in the top 5, with the path to the playoff laid out before us.
Tre will be on the short list of Heisman candidates to start the year.
Tre won't win the HT this year

What's his motivation to leave?  He could possibly (as of today): win 2 NCs and a HT and assure himself first round money.  Or he could get drafted in the 3-5 round this year.

When Tre was being interviewed after the game he said that winning the Heisman was a goal (or dream) of his, so if he doesn't get it this year, I think he'll be back to win it next year!

Robinson, Mason and Prosch would be 3 major contributors but still amazing that we would return 8 starters on O. 11-3=8, right? I have a hard time remembering how many play on offense and defense. It's 11 on offense, right?

Far be it for me to doubt the skreetz, but I don't think so.

I think getting this close to his dream of winning the Heisman will motivate him to return. That and the fact that just about everyone else will be back. This ain't like the exodus we saw after 2010. Players knew to jump off the sinking ship. This one's not taking on any water.

And it ain't like he's hard up for cash.

Jameis Winston may have helped Tre with his shenanigans.  People held their ballots waiting to see if Winston was a rapist or not, so they still had a chance to vote Tre.

That being said, I am with Chizadski.  Close but no cigar to the Heisman might be enough to make him come back.

I just talked to a couple that went to high school with him on Friday. He is out of football looking for work.

Said GM of Rams sat him down, told him he was too slow and gave him a ticket home.

Probably the best hands on a TE I have seen with the exception of a few. I would love to see him with a P. Manning. Speed would not even be a factor.

Would prolly make a good tight end coach, if he elects to go that direction.
