Title: Chris Davis for the win
Post by: Kaos on December 01, 2013, 08:40:30 AM
Chris Davis was the player being held on the negated first down that forced the blocked field goal.

Chris Davis was the player that shouldered out Yeldon with one second left.

Chris Davis was not the deep man when UAt first lined up to kick, he went back there after the timeout.

That is what seems great about this team. Everyone believes that somebody will do something to pick everyone else up.

Gus being smart enough to have the foresight about returning the short kick cannot be stressed enough!

Started wondering about this later on, why not have Corey or Sammie back there with more speed.

I think Chris has better hands and more experience return kicks. I believe he's been doing it longer (i.e. High School). Regardless, it was obviously the right call at the right time.

Because Davis has done very well this year on returning kicks.

Because that would be Oregon fast and that's just not fair.

It was Ellis Johnson's idea to have a man there. Gus chose Chris. Excellent decisions, both!!!!

Thought this was pretty cool. According to the internets Chris Davis Jr. And David Langner both graduated from the same high school, Woodlawn.

Shhhh...don't want the Updykes to get a "bright idea" and do something stupid to Woodlawn High.
