Title: Senior Day
Post by: Snaggletiger on November 26, 2013, 01:14:48 PM
I assume they will recognize the seniors Saturday as they always do at the last home game of the season.  Who do we lose?

Jake Holland:  The ovation should be thunderous

Chris Davis: While he seems to get beat a lot, what corner doesn't?  He usually takes on the opposition's best and he's been pretty solid this year. Good all around player who has done some good special teams work

Craig Sanders:  **sniff** I'll miss you, man.  Not a starter but probably his most productive year.

Ryan White:  Has had several big moments this year.

Ryan Smith:  Wait, was it him or Ryan White that had several big moments?

Steven Clark:  Can't say I'm not happy to move on. Thought he'd get better with each year.  He hasn't.

Dee Ford:  Finally healthy after a long, injury-filled career.  Bad ass off the edge.  Will be missed.

Blake Poole:  Who?

Jay Porsche:  I think we'll miss this guy far more than we know.

Cody Parkey:  Great career. Solid kicker.  I've gotten used to every kickoff landing in the stands.

Chandler Shakespeare:  MVP of the 4th quarter against WCU

Jeffrey Whittaker:  Should be back after a redshirt year for injury.

Jake Lembke:  It ALL starts with the long snapper.  Big void to fill here.

Kenneth Carter:  meh

Nosa Eguae:  Nosa has had his moments.  Not near as many as he should have but a solid guy on the front 7

Relatively speaking, we don't lose a lot.  May sound crazy but Parkey might be the biggest departure.  Wish we had Ford back for a full season.  He's one of the SEC sack leaders and hasn't even played a full season this year.  What about early departures?  The obvious possibility is Tre Mason.  Have no clue what his thoughts are but he's had a killer year coming off a thousand yard performance last season.  Greg Robinson has an NFL ready body but he seems to get whipped more than he should and is prone to penalties.  Am I missing anyone?  Thoughts?

Head Coach Craig will be all right.

Question, has anyone heard about either Craig or Garner being mentioned for head coaching jobs in the past?  They may have but I haven't heard much given they've been at other schools.  Garner has been an assistant for quite some time.  Just wondering if he's ever interviewed.  Does he..or Craig...have the personality for it?  Some people are life long assistants.

Garner, lifelong assistant.

Craig is still young, I have heard several say they expect him to be a HC one day.
