Fans won't have to wait until Friday to find out Auburn's starting quarterback this week.
Tigers' starter Nick Marshall will return to his normal role against Texas A&M, according to Auburn head coach Gus Malzahn.
Marshall, who sat out Auburn's blowout win over Western Carolina with a knee injury suffered against Ole Miss, returned to practice Sunday night and looked healthy and ready to go.
"All I can go by is Sunday. He looked pretty good. We didn't go crazy. We had a 12-period practice," Malzahn said. "Hopefully another day of rest (on Monday), and he'll be looking good today."
Marshall returns to the lineup after throwing for 902 yards, rushing for 288 yards and leading Auburn to a 4-1 record in the first five starts of his career.
Before Saturday's game against Western Carolina, Marshall was at roughly 80 percent, according to offensive coordinator Rhett Lashlee, and could have been available in an emergency situation.
Auburn held Marshall out to make sure he would be 100 percent for the trip to College Station.
"Him taking this week off to heal up, we really needed him to heal," running back Tre Mason said. "He's a great athlete. He's somebody we need going into this game to make his plays."
Auburn held a short practice on Sunday night -- Malzahn said it was 12 periods, a little more than half of a normal Tigers practice -- but Marshall was able to take snaps, move around and looked like his old self.
"I wouldn't have known there was anything wrong with him," offensive coordinator Rhett Lashlee said Sunday. "Of course we were just in helmets but I think he'll be ready to rock and roll Tuesday. We look forward to having him back."

Damn good to hear. Again!! We now have 3 QB's on the roster with game experience. Granted, JJ's playing time was against lukewarm bodies, but he did everything you could ask of him and if nothing else, he got his feets wet against somebody other than AU's D.
I like the fact that Marshall has performed, and preformed well, in a venue like Corn Dog Stadium in tough conditions. I look for him to kick some Aggie ass.
