South Carolina
has had a pretty good team.
It also has a major prima donna in J. "Oh, hey, I sorta feel like maybe I probably shouldn't play because of, you know, ribs and stuff and I'm feeling pretty tired from that practice crap anyway so I'll just chill out over here and do you maybe have some Dr. Pepper and a couple of burgers I could hold while this game thing is going on" Clowney.
Spurrier can't let that slide or he goes the way of Chizik. Irritates me that Spurrier's already been caught with recruiting violations and it doesn't diminish his reputation. And now he goes flaccid on this?
He lets it pass and that team will crash and burn.
No wonder he's drinking before his recap show.
As for the Clown, unless he changes his approach he's going to end up the Jamarcus Russel of defense.

It's a shame too. Clowney, on paper (and when he's motivated), may be the most talented DL in the SEC since Reggie White and Tracey Rocker. Dude isn't right in the head though. Imagine with his physical attributes, if he had the drive of a David Pollack.

And now he goes flaccid on this?
Should this read flaccid or placid? Anywho, spot on.

Spurrier's buckling yesterday was shocking and sickening to watch.
"If he never plays another down, we should all bend down and kiss his butt and thank him for coming to South Carolina. We should be grateful to him because we won like 26 games since he got here."
It was awful watching Spurrier grovel like that. I can't imagine the team surviving this. Nobody is above the team. Cam wasn't, Bo wasn't. Both of them were 11 times the athlete Clown is.
"I just want to clear the air that Jadeveon — all those No. 7 jerseys and all the money he has made for our school — he has been a tremendous, important player," Spurrier said.

What's more amazing is nobody is taking Spurrier to task for it.

Makes me want to puke...it was a prepared statement and supposedly they were getting some pushback from some of their "recruits" that he didn't back the player. I think its BS, I understand Clowney looking out for himself, but Spurrier shouldn't back down and kowtow to these supposed superstars.

I have mixed emotions about this. 1. I have a bone spur and I know they can hurt like hell even to walk. Feels like you step on a blunt nail with every step. So, I have some empathy that he is attempting to play this season. Maybe he shouldn't have.
As mentioned earlier, he likely would be one of the top draft picks regardless of this season. BUT, he chose to play. Bruised ribs? Give me a break. I'm sure they hurt like hell but bad enough to not play? I don't buy it.
So, I'm thinking he basically is buying into that he's "all that" and doing exactly what he wants to do. Spurrier backed off, it certainly appears to me, for PR reasons.
It's not the first time it's happened on a team. It won't be the last. I just hope the kid gets himself under control and plays the best he can for the rest of the season OR quits.

Who would take him to task for it? The media? they have no idea what is really going on. Other coaches? hell no. They would love to be in this situation. Like someone mentioned earlier, this is all about recruiting!
