How bad do major programs want to avoid that magnifying glass? In 2010, Alabama chose not to press charges against the “rogue†agent that tampered with former UA lineman Andre Smith, costing Smith his eligibility for the 2009 Sugar Bowl, because, according to Saban, it would’ve opened the university up to potential NCAA penalties had the investigation by the attorney general’s office turned up other issues.
Basically says if this were the NCAA of even a few years ago, the devil would be coming and he'd be dragging hellfire behind him. But today? May not even squeak as it cowers in fear of Saban.

I'm confused about this. Is there a quote from Saban saying this? Because that would be an admission of guilt.
