That 77 yd pass was a thing of beauty.
Fuck Dan Mullen.
-
That was the best example of poor tackling angles in football history. What the fuck was Ryan Smith looking at? The ball carrier cut inside and he's still faced towards the sideline just trotting along with his hands cocked at his side.

I summed all that up in one word when I saw it: THAFUCK?
-
I have hope for Marshall with Gus at the helm. What an arm. Just needs fine tuning.
-
Maybe the defense can get more 3 and outs cause long scoring drives like that sucks.
-
Where's our fucking running game that y'all keep talking about? And how about we put a spy on their god damn qb? We really look pathetic.
-
OMG, Jakey just kicked shit out the MSU qb, is someone else on defense wearing #5

And ESPN spotlighted it as how you make a tackle. Damn.
-
Something about a blind squirrel, nut, acorn or hog saying
-
We suck. Tonight? We suck. When Jake Holland is your spotlight, you know you suck.
-
And ESPN spotlighted it as how you make a tackle. Damn.
But the douchebag announcer called him "Jake Hollins".

I knew that weren't our Jackey, Jake Hollins, must be a walk-on
-
Holland leaves his feet for like every tackle. That guy is coming right at you. Just tackle him.
-
Wake me up when Holland graduates or is injured. Fuck me.

Shouldn't you be gloating over on WoollyAL?
-
Shouldn't you be gloating over on WoollyAL?
No.
I don't like Manziel, but he is a fucking baller. Kid can flat out play. Nothing to gloat about, just a really hard fought game by both sides.
-
How was that shot on Tre not targeting?
-
Down 20-17 heading into the 4th...time for da rally caps
-
This reminds me of last year.
-
Ugh...3 turnovers. Man, these Dogs have been tipping more passes than cows tonight.
-
This reminds me of last year.
Yup

Welcome to 2012
-
I'll take that back. If it was 2012, MSU would have scored on that drive.
-
If we had an accurate quarterback, we'd have a potent offense. But for now, teams will load the box and let us throw incomplete passes down field where wide open guys are.
-
I'm feeling really anxious right now.
-
I'm feeling really anxious right now.
Don't. This is pretty much hopeless.
-
I just shit a brick
-
Wow. Nice work on the final drive. We got a long way to go folks but it's nice to shove one in Mullen's face.
-
HOLY SHIT!!! A lot of work before we are back to where we want to be, but yes, fuck Dan Mullen. War Damn Eagle!!!
-
Well at least we didn't roll over and take it in the ass. Good comeback.
-
Man o man.
-

He looked pretty fucking accurate inside of two minutes. Nick Marshall won that game. Well done. He's only going to get better.
War damn and fuck Mullen.
-
Atleast we have some fight this year. And while this one wasn't impressive, that last drive sure as hell was. We are far from the top but its still September and we've already matched last season's win total. I'll take it.
-

Well said.
and to Mullen.....War Eagle stupid head!!

I know it's fun to pile on the QB, but our receivers suck donkey dick. Lot's of dropped passes these first three games that would have kept drives alive or scored.

The ability to come back and win this game says a lot about the leaps and bounds the AU team has come thus far.

I don't disagree completely with what you are posting here but in their defense it's hard to catch the laserbeams NM is unloading most times. Boy has got to learn some touch or he's gonna kill someone. That last pass was more like it.

Exactly. They are strikes and usually on the money but damn, dude. Dial the power back a notch. It's like Peyton Manning in the fake United Way commercial knocking those little kids in the head.
He's a converted DB. Give Gus-lee some time with him. By season's end, he'll be so much improved. And what a concept - Gus might have the same QB two years in a row!!

This. I would hate to try and catch those. BUT you have hit to catch them. They got gloves, man up.
One thing I'm liking is that NM is getting pretty accurate. Dial it back a bit an we go off on some teams.

For what it's worth Marshall was 23-34 with two picks (one tipped the other a end of the half Hail Mary). He had 339 yards passing.
I don't know but how many 300-yard passing games have we had in the last lots of years?
We aren't good. Not going to go undefeated. But no reason to ding Marshall tonight. Other than the one "oh god he's really open" overthrow he looked pretty good.
Not sure why we got conservative for such a long stretch. I thought we were better than them and should have gone nuts out.
And they can credit holland all they want. He hesitates. And is lost.
-
Well, we looked better against MSU this year than we have since 2009...we turned the ball over 3 times and still found a way to win. That says A LOT about our team. Btw, Ryan White is slowly getting into Slade & Holland's line of players that I can't wait to see leave. MSU´s two play scoring drive of 80 or so yards was because of him. His man took the WR quick pass and turned it into a 50+ yard play, then they ran the reverse to his side and he was walking towards the other sideline as the play ran right by him.

It looked like he was looking over his left shoulder waiting on the runner to come right to him, and it didn't help that he was prancing like a prissy girl with his hands cocked out to his sides. That was definitely Holland-esque, but Holland does something like that every play.

I'm guessing since 2009. I know when he broke the 200yd marker, it was the first time Auburn's QB has thrown for more than 200 yds since Trotter did it in 2011 against Utah State & he was the first QB over 200 yds passing in SEC play since Cam did it in 2010 against uat.
It has been a while since we had a 300+ QB, would've been a lot more probably, if our receivers would've catched the Damn easy passes that hit them in the hands (I'm not talking about the laser beams).

I'd rather have a Freshman making those type of mental mistakes, than a Senior.

The skull fucking by aTm didn't last long as Johnny had a preme.

I'm not sure either. That was the difference in just 1 1/2 left in the 4th quarter. That was a before and after look at the last drive of the game. Its unfortunate but I wasn't sure AU could pull it off. Then they did.

If it were 2012, we get down by 14-21 points and quit by 3rd quarter. I mean , that is what happened last year. 28-10 didn't do last years game justice. We should have lost by 28 points.
-
As I said in the other deal, we left 20+ points on the field. That will come.
We would have lost that game with Moseley or Frazier at QB. Without question. I think we probably lose it with Wallace in there. Strange that Frazier got a snap and Wallace didn't but I digress.
Marshall gives us a chance. No, he's not Cam (who is?) and he's not Manziel or Murray or even Mcrichardleson. But he grew up a little bit more last night. I was encouraged by what I saw. Even without the last drive.
And then there's this from al.com
Prescott's play underlined a glaring weakness in Auburn's defense. Time after time he raced right up the middle for sizable gains as an interior line anchored by All-SEC guard Gabe Jackson neutralized Auburn's defensive tackles. The linebackers have to fill that gap. Too many times, they didn't, as Prescott's game-high 133 rushing yards will attest.

This is what I feel and think about our receivers. They need to man up and make some of those catches. I know that they are coming in hot, but if they hit you in the numbers you should make the catch. I watched a guy named Elway for years throw bullets to his receivers and they didn't seem to mind. I know they are a different caliber receiver, but if our guys expect to become NFL caliber receivers then they are going to have to learn how to catch those darts that Marshall is throwing. If you go by his stats last year it wasn't a problem for his JUCO receivers either.
I'm not saying it's all the receivers fault and I agree that Marshall needs to learn some more touch, but it's not all his fault either. He had a good game last night other than the overthrow to Coates. That one pick was a end of the half desperation kind of thing. While disappointed with it, I don't hold it against him either. We did it in the 2010 SEC Championship game and it paid off for us, last night it didn't.
-

We pull Holland, put in Frost and they didn't score again. Not saying he made all the difference, b/c the line stating playing really well, but he helps. Even Gus implied we are/were better with Frost in the game. I am thinking that Jake's time may be limited.
** "Coach Johnson made really good adjustments in the second half. We got Kris Frost back ... that really helped."
I saw some things I liked last night and things I didn't like, but we won and against an SEC opponent and I will take that considering the dumpster fire that our team was this week a year ago.
-
I agree with perspective of the D. When Frost is in the game, the AU D looks totally different....the whole defenses, not just LB play.
I am hoping/believing the was Marshalls break out game.
-
I was in the stands saying "Hold on till halftime, boys! Hold on till halftime!" when our defense was out on the field.
The second half starts and Holland is still out there. On the opening drive of the 3rd quarter, their QB rolls to the right and jogs right past Holland and turns it upfield for a 20+ yard gain. With anyone else out there, he would have been stopped for a loss of 3 yards. I turned to the guy sitting beside me and said, "Coach Johnson knows Frost can play now, right?"

Ryan Smith is the one that is quickly getting there for me. Against WSU and again last night on big pass plays, he looked like he was challenging the receiver to a race for the end zone rather than trying to take an angle and actually tackle.
