Title: Obligatory "Jake Holland Sucks" thread
Post by: HSVBeerNerd on September 07, 2013, 09:42:38 PM
Seriously I've watched this guy numerous times tonight try to slide back into zone or go opposite of the incoming runner and AVOID the tackle.

He refuses to run towards the the offense. If he does miraculously make a tackle, he's literally letting Ark St get with a yard of the first down where it could've been a 3-4 yard gain if he would pursue the runner instead of BACKING up in the play.

I've seen it on the QB keeper, the wildcat, a draw play, hell EVERYTHING ALL NIGHT. Why does he continuously go in the OPPOSITE DIRECTION OF THE PLAY

Mormons are putting it to the short horns (Saban's future team) 27-14 at the half

He played better tonight than he did last week. That's not saying much.

The loss of Frost for a half next week is going to hurt.  I was just beginning to see the lights come on.  He picked up the receiver out of the backfield a couple of times and prevented the drag route.  I really think he was on the verge of taking over the position.  He looked quicker, he looked more aggressive, he looked more decisive.

Holland just spun like a top and let the guy on the drag go.  At least three times the guy was wide open but the pass was bad.  He just stands there and bounces up and down trying to remember what to do while the play unfolds all around him.  You've heard of those guys who say it all slows down?  I think Jakey is one of those guys where it all speeds up and he's lost.

I agree.. expect Mullen to try to screen pass like a mofo next week. Frost was looking pretty good, but the competition gets tougher from here.

That and MY GOD with the flags/penalties in this game

That garbage crew took the phrase "you could call holding on every play" literally.

The ASU receiver looked to have the ball in bounds on that long pass they ruled out.

Never seen a clearer case of pass interference than the one they didn't call on ASU.

Half the holding calls I just didn't see at all.

The "targeting" was a freaking overreaction.  He didn't lead with his head and he wasn't trying to hurt the guy.  That was BS.

The personal foul on the QB takedown was garbage too.  If he'd cut out of bounds I could see it.  But he put out the stiffarm.  He hadn't turned toward the sideline when the takedown started.

Whatever.  That crew was full of guys with bad moustaches.  Looked like a 70s porn revival.  They were really bad.
