I heard about 15 minutes of it today. Fortunately, he was interviewing somebody on the Manziel situation. During the other 5 minutes outside of the interview, he only mentioned AJ McHeisman and Lord Saybinz once.

So, what it comes down to is that the show will be exactly the same as it ever was, there David Byrne. Not that I imagined it would be any different. Here's the kicker. When the SEC Network finally gets off the ground...in another year....his show will go on the air in the afternoons. Just like Colin Cowherd and Mike & Mike. Radio/TV.

I really don't think THAT many people listened to his ass. Yeah, he had a relatively captive audience in Birmingham and now has that again. But in Atlanta where people have options? In Charlotte, Nashville, Lexington, New Orleans, Orlando, Jacksonville, Gainesville, St. Louis... where there are legitimate options to hear about the programs they care about? Will his crappy schtick fly?
In St. Louis where they want to hear news about the Blues, the Cardinals and the Rams (is that right?) and about Mizzou even. Are they going to sit through a 15 minute retardo rant from Darryl when they can flip the channel and get local sports talk?
He had the same 20 callers every single day. Every one ignorant in his/her own way. I don't think that sustains when there's another option.
Jerry Springer works on Channel 54 at 1 a.m. He wouldn't work on ABC at 10:30.
I don't think he can make this work. What ESPN doesn't realize is that even here, most intelligent people consider him a joke.

Curiosity got to me. I wanted to report what I suspected. It's exactly the same miserable piece of shift show it was when I last listened a few years ago.
I won't be listening again. Me tuning in just aided in the precipitous daily ratings decline.

Pulling into the office from lunch just as his show came on. He was giving the line up of guests and said, "And we'll have an Auburn Professor of Journalism on, who is not happy with ESPN's coverage of the Johnny Manziel situation."
