The Sopranos and The Wire have the most ardent followers I've ever heard of. It's amazing people hang on to shows that lost steam early in the run.
Breaking Bad's "beginning of the end" was really engaging. I figure every body will die in a meth fire. That's justice, after all.

Have you lost your mind?
Sopranos Season Five was the best of the bunch. The next to last episode of that season ended with Adriana getting gunned down. The last episode was the end of Tony Blundetto and closed with FBI agents grabbing Johnny Sack. The series really should have ended there, but we're talking about the fifth season here and it was every bit as good or better than the four before it.
Lost steam "early in the run..." PFFFFFFFFFFTTTTFFFFTTT PFFFFTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTfffTTTT.
Yeah, Season Six lagged but only because Chase had to expand it beyond the original arc to placate HBO. The entire gay Vito thing was made up on the spur of the moment to fill time. The whole dream sequence and Vito is gay storylines, like Godfather III, don't exist.

It aired, you can buy those episodes, so, yes, they exist.
And Godfather III is not nearly as bad as people make it out to be.

Haven't seen The Sopranos, but The Wire didn't lose steam. It made steam. It gave you water, heated it up for you, and then gave you a fan to blow the steam in your face.
The Wire is the only show I would put in front of Breaking Bad in terms of quality.

I am danger. I'm on season 3 episode 1 of the Sopranos so thanks for the spoilers.

Yeah I make sure I skim the comments about The Sopranos quickly to make sure there aren't any. I saw the word "gay," so now I'll expect that somewhere somehow I guess.
I plan on starting that show soon. Like this week soon.

Plant a tree. Wash Jake Holland's car. Learn to play Stairway to Heaven in a lute. All activities more useful than watching the OverHypedranos.

Your first mistake.
Best show in television history and it's not even close.
All shows have dead cycles.
1) Sopranos - Season 6.
2) Andy Griffith - Anything in color
3) Frasier - Anything much after Niles/Daphne get married
4) Seinfeld - The finale
5) Dexter - Anything much after third season
6) Oz - The last season
Breaking Bad hasn't really had that dud year(s). But it's still not on the same level as Sopranos, even if you pretend Season 6 did exist.
No show ever has packed more foreshadowing, more detail, more info, more event into an hour than Sopranos. It all ties together from the first day. When you've watched it all the way through and then go back and pick up a random episode, it's like an entire season of drama bound into that one piece.
Best show ever.

All due respect, sorry.
