Title: Great Gatsby
Post by: Townhallsavoy on May 10, 2013, 03:00:53 PM
I was getting a bit excited to see this until I saw the entire soundtrack is rap music.

What the fuck is rap music doing in a film set in the 1920s?

I'll never see this movie.

I saw it, and it was the #1 thing I didn't like about the movie.

Every time they were at a jazz club or one of Gatsby's extravagant parties where there was clearly a jazz band playing, they would blare some dub step-ish Jay-Z song and it took me right out of it.

Weirdest example was when they were driving over the bridge and the Model T next to them is a car full of black people popping bottles of Monet while "H to the Izzo" blares.

WTF?
