Title: Spring Game Weekend Events
Post by: Snaggletiger on April 11, 2013, 12:52:41 PM
Unfortunately, I won't be attending the A-Day weekend but I know many of you are.  Saw this copage-of-the-pasta on al.kum that gives a great breakdown of the weekends' festivities.  Would love some pics from anyone going.

Auburn's annual A-Day spring game will be sandwiched by a locker room tour, fan festival, autograph session with players the final rolling of the live oaks at Toomer's Corner on April 20.

Auburn finalized its plans for the annual spring scrimmage in an announcement Wednesday. The annual spring game is scheduled for 1 p.m. at Jordan-Hare Stadium. Tickets are $5 for the general public and free for Auburn students with proper identification. Auburn announced Monday it had sold a record number of tickets online.

Tickets can also be purchased on the day of the game at the stadium. The game will be televised on CSS.

Auburn will host tours of the locker room at Jordan-Hare Stadium from 4 to 6 p.m. on April 19. The fan fest starts at 9 a.m. Saturday on campus.

The final rolling of the live oaks at Toomer's Corner will begin at 5 p.m. The block party will include a spirit rally and live music until 8:30 p.m. Portions of the rolling will be televised live on ESPN. A two-year fight to save the poisoned trees was unsuccessful. The oaks will be removed at 7 a.m. on April 23.

I too will not be attending. Mrs. Dallas in San Antonio helping with her elderly mom, moving her to a “facility” for the elderly and yes I thought about making trip anyway and the thoughts of being “snaggled” made me think better. So those that do go please to be posting pictures.  Hope to see everyone Labor Day for kick-off.

Looks like several great opportunities for pics with the autograph session and the locker room tour.  Plus, anyone hitting up the rolling of Toomers', please to be posting pics of that.  Should be AUsome.

You can’t believe how bummed I am about not making this. We had been planning this since December. Hotel was booked as was events while we were there. On labor day when I am looking at a blank spot where the tree stood I will regret this.

Why would you take 2 bathtubs to the beach anyway?  Wouldn't a couple of beach chairs...maybe a towel or two be more convenient?  A lot less trouble. And once his pecker starts peeking, you don't have to drag the damn things back to the room.  Kind of a boner-kill, don'tcha think?

Maybe he was concerned about a sandy vagina? I would think that would be hell on the pink curtains.

I made that mistake one time on a catamaran at Orange Beach late one night, really late. Then after the curtains were worn a bit, I took her to the bill fishing club house for more activity. Ahhh, those were the days. I didn't suffer any damage that I can remember. But, I was so drunk, I barely remember.

DOUBLE FUCK

Somebody PM me the usual spot. I may try to get my 16 year old son to make the trip with me.

My daughter will probably be in, but she is only 13 and I need to protect her from the dangers of college lifestyles. So I'll try to get her in to see the cheerleaders. She is good at that.

Not to brag or anything (right), but she just made the freshman football cheer squad, and the varsity competition squad. And she wants to cheer at AU. Daughters are the best.

Congrats to her.  If she wants to cheer at AU, tell her to make sure she doesn't grow to more than 5' tall and weigh more than 86 pounds.  Plus, no tits.  They don't allow tits.

LOL. Too late. She is about 5' 3" 115 lbs of muscle. She is very good tumbler.

At age 13, I have to keep her on a short leash. So if she shows up at the local spot, it will be in a burka and blindfolded.

My daughter has always been a dancer/performer/cheerleader.  (Insert crude X joke here...again, I would) Anyway, after high school, she enrolled in Auburn and tried out for Tiger Paws.  Made it to the final 3 but got cut.  Devastated her.  She'd never been cut from anything.  Always out front.  Always getting the accolades.  All of a sudden, she wasn't good enough?  That was her first introduction to the "real world" as it pertains to performing.  Took her a while and being told in auditions for various parts all over the U.S. that you just may not be what they're looking for.  She's almost 5'10".  There are no 5'10" Tiger Paws. Just like there are no 130 pound cheerleaders.  Tried out for a part in a Disney production and was told no one over 5'4" would be considered.  But thanks for playing.

For those going to teh Planes Saturday.  Clear skies and 70 degrees.  Couldn't axe for better conditions.  Also, from what I've read, the ticket pre-sales have gone over 28,000.  Just a guess on my part but I would think the better part of ticket sales for A-Day are walk-up.  I'm guessing this will be a pretty solid crowd, which is astounding following one of the worst seasons in AU history.  I imagine the tree ceremony has a good bit to do with it as well.
