Title: The Crown has been broken
Post by: AUTailgatingRules on March 22, 2013, 12:15:23 PM
So I went to UPS to track the 1.75 liter bottle of Crown that was supposed to be delivered to the winner yesterday. and this is what I see:

Fort Worth, TX, United States    03/21/2013    7:46 P.M.   The package was damaged in transit. UPS will notify the sender with the details. / All merchandise discarded. UPS will notify the sender with details of the damage.
03/21/2013    1:59 P.M.   The package was damaged in transit. UPS will notify the sender with the details.
03/21/2013    5:32 A.M.   Out For Delivery
Birmingham, AL, United States    03/19/2013    4:39 P.M.   Pickup Scan
United States    03/19/2013    2:19 P.M.   Order Processed: Ready for UPS

Really Sucks.  Hope I don't get a visit from the ATF for shipping alcohol

So, you're gonna go with the old damaged in transit bit. It's a classic. I've used it a many a time. Right up there with I left my wallet in the car.  #winning

Well, there's no reason to play next season if all I'm going to get is the ole, "The dog drank my Crown" ploy.

And I WAS planning on really trying this season.  Been reeling you guys in the last 5. I was moving in for the kill.  Now....what's the use?

May have to send out a gift card for any out of town winner.  Probably what I will do for War Eagle to replace this one.

I'm pretty sure UPS isn't going to give me my money back, and hope they just let it slide with that.

The real purpose for the law is to prevent alcohol from being shipped in bulk from out of state for sale in state, but without the appropriate duty tax having been paid for the out of state alcohol.

I would imagine UPS would let it slide and doesn't care, but even if they notified the authoritahs, I think they'd let you slide or would work something out.  However, I've never seen anyone charged with shipping alcohol in the mail, so that's a complete guess.

Actually the new one that he likes to have done to him is "I gotta go to the bathroom.  Oh I'm sorry I didn't know the bill was coming."

This^^^ And rarely do you see them enforce the mandatory 2 year sentence and $5,000.00 fine. I've never seen them apply both in those circumstances.  Well, once...but the guy mouthed off to the Judge.  Never mouth off to the Judge.

They just sent me a letter telling me that the contents were not properly packaged and gave me future packaging suggestions?????  Even listed the contents being 1 bottle Crown Royal.

I'm guessing this is the end of it and all I'm out is the cost of the bottle and shipping.

You got the energy to chase a 3 year old and a 15 month old?

But then Bourbon will be the reason we are both in jail.  Whose going to take care of them then?

It could be over or this could just be the set up before they drop the big one. If so, good luck in the slammer. Take it like a man, or.., well you know what I mean.

This is how it went down.

Tyrone (UPS package donkey #1): "Yo, Dee! Sum cracka done mailed some skrait up fly drank. Meet me out on da loading dock at lunch an let's raise da roof up in dis muthafuka!"

D'Ontariangelo (UPS package donkey #2): "I be there! Ima brang Lakresha and La Shirl wit me."

Seriously though, when I was stationed in Italy, I mailed a bottle of top notch Italian red wine to Wench & the Corndog after she finished birthing her youngest. It was confiscated by the USPS, and all that happened was that she got a strongly worded form letter from the Postmaster General.

Don't think I have not already thought of that.  I packed it pretty well in bubble wrap and stuffed the box full of old plastic wal mart bags ( not to mention the Crown bottle is pretty stout itself).  I didn't think that bitch could be broken if they dropped it off a 3 story building.

Unfortunately, being that it was contraband and not supposed to be shipped in the first place, I can't really object and plead my case.

Odds of some UPS driver drinking my hooch.....better than 50-50
