Title: I'm Thankful For....
Post by: Townhallsavoy on November 18, 2012, 09:04:51 AM
- Alabama backing into another championship game and needing to beat a 3-8 Auburn team in Tuscaloosa to stay on path to Miami.

- A head coach that at 11 weeks into the season still needs time to watch film to understand anything about his football team.

- Oregon scoring on average almost 20 points per 1st quarter of each game this season but only scoring 14 total in a home game against a rebuilding Stanford team that was led by a true freshman quarterback.

- Lache "Tell Nick Saban He's SOL" Seastrunk being a healthy, comeback-playing running back that ran for 180+ yards to help upset Kansas State and propel Nick Saban and Alabama back into the NC hunt.

- Michael Dyer who is sitting at home playing COD Black Ops 2 instead of suiting up in orange and blue.

- With Tennessee and Arkansas both having coaching searches and possibly Texas if Mack Brown retires, I'm thankful we have Jay Jacobs, who said before that he's willing to shed out any amount of money and search nationally, to find our next head coach.

- Alabama fans acting like it's Mardi Gras on Bourbon Street last night ( http://twitter.yfrog.com/0997641359ltclxsdtldarivxrwklz ) while Toomer's slowly dies.

- Alabama fans making multiple posts on Facebook and Twitter about how much they love trees...while Toomer's slowly dies.

- Miss State, Ole Miss, Texas A&M, and Vanderbilt all on the upswing while we try to claw our way out of the cellar of the SEC.

- Just reading that Toomer's was burned last night...mysteriously... http://www.theplainsman.com/view/full_story/20875230/article-Toomer-s-Oaks-mysteriously-ablaze?instance=home_news_lead_story

- Notre Dame being 11-0 and needing only to beat a QB-less USC team to go to the national championship, which will set up an overhyped month of discussions about history, tradition, pageantry, and other bullshit as Alabama travels to meet Notre Dame in Miami.

Happy Thanksgiving!

No, I really didn't.

It was easy to see with Oregon having to win three tough games when they hadn't really played anyone good yet that Oregon going undefeated was impossible.  It was also easy to see that Kansas State was a paper tiger, but I expected them to lose to Texas and not Baylor.

Still sucks though.

Yup, pretty much spot on.

Worst Season Ever (that I've experienced) topped off with this...

The 2012 season. Even when we win we lose.

Of course that's just where we are, celebrating a victory over AA&M.

I can't get too ill at nd. They had the second hardest schedule at the start of the season and the lovefest hasnt been as bad as I thought it would be. Kelly is a helluva coach. I'll give em their due. Their D is stout. And besides we may have to root for them if nothing changes.

I'm not ill at Notre Dame just like I wasn't really ill towards USC back when Pete Carroll was there.

I'm ill because of the media.  And worse because of what this state is going to do when Alabama beats Notre Dame to win a national championship.

Yeah, they're going to make ND vs bammer seem like the second coming of the 4 horsemen, Knute Rockney, Bar Brint, Broadway Joe, etc, etc, and it will be a "historic win".

I am thankful for the great state of Kentucky, it's abundance of iron free limestone water, corn, wheat, rye and malted barley.  I am thankful for new charred oak barrels and time.  Without all of the above, I wouldn't have survived this season and I wouldn't be able to make it through the next couple of Saturdays.

Amen.
