Sometimes I don't know whether or laugh or cry...at any rate I bet I know what will be one of the jokes on late night TV tonight; this is an excerpt from the NYT, I should point out that Woodstock, Ga. is just a few miles north of where I live, all emphasis is my own:

Shutting the Gates Over Fears of Election Unrest
By MANNY FERNANDEZ
A gated community near Atlanta has decided to step up security this week. The reason is not burglaries, but another issue entirely: the presidential election.
In Woodstock, Ga., about 30 miles north of Atlanta, the president of a homeowners’ association sent an e-mail on Sunday informing residents that the entrance gates would be closed 24 hours a day beginning at 6 p.m. Tuesday, out of concern over possible civil unrest after the election.
“I feel it is better to take a position of caution to enhance controlled access to the community until we see what (if any) negative repercussions may occur because of the results of the election,†wrote Bill Stanley, the president of the homeowners’ association at the Cottages of Woodstock, a residential community for people 55 and over.
The entrance gates have been open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. during various construction projects. Mr. Stanley said the gates would be closed round the clock until next Monday – “if all goes well.â€

Bill Maher on HBO’s Real Time Friday (2 Nov 2012) said:
“If you’re thinking about voting for Mitt Romney, I would like to make this one plea: black people know who you are and they will come after youâ€

I think publicizing it enables it.
That said, I am glad I live in a lily white suburb south of Birmingham.

It's amazing to me that some people are willing to give up their lives for an election. Most everyone here packs and would just about invite some stupid inbred starting some shit so they could burn some gunpowder and donate lead. Just fuckin' sayin'.

My two friends marlin and ruger dare them to. Fuck Maher. Funny things are only offensive or inappropriate when it's the right. They will bring up the civil war 150 yrs later but what he just said is ok. Got it.

Kennesaw?
If bottomfeeder lives in Kennesaw then a TigersX meet and greet might be in order...

These are just old folks being cautious. There is a huge contingent of illegals just a few miles down the road. But in all reality, we usually have no issue with this kind of thing here in Woodstock.
But just in case, I think I'll go volunteer a few hours to help guard the gate. Just in case some out of towners come to visit in support of Maher....

I lived in Acworth until about 6 years ago, and unless things have changed in the last half decade in Woodstock, I don't think they have much to worry about. Anybody who would want to cause "civil unrest" problems should know that MARTA doesn't run to Cobb County.

Didn't they have like a big concert there with drugs and orgies and shit?

I really don't think Charlie and his dog would have let something like that happen.

Tilted Kilt?
Perfect. Somehow seems appropriate for Xers.

MARTA doesn't run there either.
