Title: I weep for an Auburn football program
Post by: JR4AU on October 27, 2012, 10:50:44 PM
that loses to ANYBODY 63-21.

To call it unacceptable doesn't do it justice.

When Rod and Stan are so dismayed they've turned to simply laughing at how dreadful we are, what have we come to?

When our 1's on Def. can barely slow down aTm's 2's and 3's on offense...FUCK!

The 1998 team needs to have a reunion yearly now to celebrate no longer being the worst team in modern Auburn history, a la the '72 Dolphins.

I know some are screaming for Chiz to be fired Monday morning.  Meh, whatever.  It won't change this year.  What does need to happen is that they start searching for/securing his replacement.

Loeffler was once again clueless today, and did BVG have a frontal lobotomy?  How can you not have a clue how to slow down an offense that won't work in the SEC?

And Chizik is the leader of this island of misfit toys.

Speaking of island of misfit toys...the X Tailgate rocked!

I think we could have beat Auburn today, but then again who wouldn't of.

It was a good group of folks.

Could 71 yards rushing and 121 yards passing going 6/9 have helped us beat Lsu, Vanderbilt, or Ole miss?  Maybe.  But Jonathan Wallace looked like he had a clue how to play football unlike limp dick Moseley and dumbass Frazier.

Just so you know, the TV commentators spent nearly the whole 4th quarter talking about Chizik losing his job.

Also, at this point, Wallace should be starter at QB. What the FUCK is there to lose. Auburn's defense has given up 600+ yards four times in The last 50 years.  Three of those four have been under Gene Chizik.

Our defense hasn't had an interception in 315 consecutive passes thrown.

During the last 21 games, Auburn's defense is giving up 422 yards per game, 29 points per game, and 199 yards rushing per game.

We're 1-7, and it's obvious the players have given up.  It should no longer be questioned if we will fire Chizik but rather, "why has he not been fired yet?". Send the message to the current players that they will have a new head coach to impress in order to give them a reason to get better during this season.  Give BVG the chance or hell, even Trooer or Luper the chance to stop the bleeding just enough to save a few recruits.  They won't be any worse than the abortion that is Auburn football right now.

I doubt many AU fans expected to win this one, but fuck. I will say this though: aTm is the team that is left on Alabama's schedule that has the best chance of beating them, IMO. As a fan, aTm worries me more than even LSU. That may be a little ridiculous, but aTm'S QB is crazy good for a frosh, and they can put up some points.

1. On firing chiz ASAP. Personally I think it should happen. We need to start moving forward. This team has completely quit with the exception of a few. Whether it Petrino getting hired immediately or bvg taking reigns temorarily, I think it gives this team a jump start. We have no toughness and that's an indictment of chizik. He's the poison in the water. Listen to his weekly pressers - still the same coach speak and shit about working and getting better. He honestly thinks his method works. I'm done with it.

Speaking of bvg......

2. I think bvg is just a product of being under chizik. He can only do so much. Especially coaching a broken team in a broken process. I don't blame bvg. Look what roof and cgm are doing with their new teams. This is a chizik problem. And on a bigger level, a JJ problem.

3. Yes, X gate rocked. nuff said. I'm sure pictures will follow. I have many.

I remember '98 well and for the first time in my life I'm not really sad/upset/pissed off after an Auburn loss. After being in disbelief from the MSU game, to becoming beweldered after the Arky game, I am now just numb.

Agreed.  I listened to the post game locker room interview and chizik sounded like this was a Typical experience for a football team.  He keeps saying in multiple interviews, "well, we got beat by a better football team" as if it's just a ho-hum fact about life.  There hasn't been any fire in him at all this season.

He has to go.  Now.

God help me, I'm starting to agree. I'm never for firing a coach until the season is over, but Jesus Christ. I can't ask those players to go out there lost as shit four more times when I couldn't even stomach watching one full half.

Also...I've never seen the life sucked out of Auburn...I saw it yesterday. On campus, in the faces of the fans....we can't handle four more weeks.

And those four weeks include top ten Georgia and #1 ranked @Alabama.

Chizik has to go.  If anything, it would at least give fans motivation to come to the next two games just to see if anything's different.  But I doubt that happens because who would have to make that decision?

I bet all of the businesses that depend on the crowd are feeling it as well.  A friend of mine was at the game and said that he had never seen the city so dead on gameday.  Not even when AU is playing a scrub team.  It was also as you described in the stadium as well.  He said his section started emptying out when aTm went up 14-0.

I have some other AU grads that I am friends with as well, and they don't plan on spending a dime on AU football until the entire athletic department is cleared out.  It sucks to wait all year for this time of year, and when you get to it, you can't wait for it to be over with.

The X gate was a great time!  It was good to meet you bunch of degenerates.

Chizik has to go.  More importantly Jacobs has to go.  I  want Jacobs to get up announce that Chizik has been fired and then as soon as he steps down, I want Gouge to make the announcement that Jacobs has been fired.  To me it would be a fitting end for Jacobs last act as AD is to fire the coach he hitched his star to.

I am glad we made the decision to not go to the game.  What I watched on TV was heartbreaking.   I will never root against my team, but seriously considering finding other things to do on Saturdays to keep myself occupied so I don't have to watch the carnage.   I cringe watching us play for the first time in my life.

Frazier and Moseley have three touchdown passes on the year.

Wallace had two in one game.

Chizik afterwards said Wallace is coming along a little bit at a time and has done well for a young guy. (paraphrased)

I don't think gene is evn paying attention at this point.

Against ole miss and Vanderbilt, auburn's passing game generated four plays of 15 yards or more.  In one half against Texas a&m, Wallace had five straight in his first five passes.

I don't know whether Wallace played against A&M's second line defenders or not but he moves the pocket to suit himself and finds open receivers. I was watching his ball placement and not once did he throw toward the defenders side or too terribly out of reach when he missed. I'm a little concerned for him given the state of things without saying much more.
C. J. Uzomah showed good hands, some moves and plenty of speed as a receiver. He's no big bodied TE, just a tall athletic type the NFL goes ga ga over.
Wonder what else is hidden away in the cupboard?

Their starters were in for some of it.  not all.  But anyone with eyes could see the difference between Wallace and the two Tweedles.  2nd string or not.

He's no small bodied TE either.

He looked like a grown man out there. He flat out blasted through some motherfuckers on his TD reception. When I think about the talent on this team and how its been utilized, I just wanna  :puke:

This. All of it. Some in our fanbase are trying to say it was junk yards. Same ones also are still pondering whether we should give gene another year. Unreal.

Kinda like when we had WR Tim Carter and we never utilized his speed. Then at the NFL Combine he ran like a 4.28 or a 4.3 40 (whatever it was, it was ”shit your pants” fast).

I have a feeling that we have a few more players like Uzomah that we just aren't playing (players that you can see, on the field, is giving everything they have). Players like our own Johnny Football, 'Nova, Frost, Kozan, Grant, Blakely (I don't care that he has fumbled a couple times, atleast he's fucking trying) and there's probably a couple others.

Completely agree. 3 top 10 classes in a row.

We have talent. It is lost right now. A good coach can come in here and win immediately...

Yep. A guy who's strength is coaching players up and who's offense has worked at every stop. A proven coach. No matter who he porked once upon a time.
