Title: I'm scarred

for this State... Read the comments.  If Roy Moore wins this election, then we will validate all of the mockery and jokes other States have made about Alabama.

All I see is a line drawn down the middle, as is the case with 99% of all political discussions.  Not saying I support Moore, I don't.  But, the comments from those opposing him....screw it, I'm not going there.

I don't like Moore and wouldn't vote for him 9 times out of 10.  I don't mind his faith being a part of his life, I don't mind his Christianity.  Not at all.  What I do mind is being blatant, in your face with it.   If he were an Atheist I would have the same feelings.  It wouldn't bother me at all until he is blatant, in your face with it.

I don't mind a politician having Christian faith or not believing in God/a god, whatever, what I do mind is when they use their faith or lack there of to pander and promote themselves with it.  When sitting on the bench I fully expect a judge to go strictly by the laws that are on the books (nothing more, nothing less) and not legislate from the bench.

EDIT:  That should have read "I don't mind his Christianity".

Exactly - until the laws are changed, you must rule in accordance with what you have, regardless of your personal feelings and opinions.

And he does not do that.  Roy Moore is a fucking idiot.  I would vote for the other guy too, just to keep Moore out of office.  Every now and then, you have to choose the lesser of two evils, and in this case, the Democrat is it.  Even if he was CJ, he is one vote of 9 and the other 8 are conservative.  From what I have read about him, he does not bring politics into play from the bench.  That's the whole problem with electing judges.  I know appointments are no better, but when a judge has to declare a partisan position, and then be expected to rule in accordance with the law over personal opinion, that is a conflict from the get go.
