- It was good to see a good SEC football game yesterday. The Florida-Tennessee game was the first normal, hard hitting, on CBS during a picture perfect day, truly southern football game yet. Thank God for the Olive Branch in Mountain Brook having delicious food and an HD TV.
- Why is Geno Smith getting all of the love from that Baylor-West Virginia game? Yes, his stats were better and he can be a Heisman candidate, but not one person has said anything about Baylor's QB throwing for 581 and one of their receivers catching for 314.
- Also, West Virginia had a receiver with 303 yards.
- Towson's going to have a really good football team next. Their fans must have patience though. Those young kids finally got their feet wet against a juggernaut and took them to the wire. Just imagine how good they'll be after winter conditioning.
- I'm not impressed with Alabama at all. I thought there were opportunities for Ole Miss to make it interesting in the 1st half. Of course, it was Ole Miss and they're dumbasses. But one thing you have to do to stay with Alabama is limit stupid mistakes. Alabama kills you on stupid mistakes. Other than that? Alabama runs it up the middle or throws it less than 15 yards down field. Their offense has weapons, but they looked stoppable.
- No team looks like the undisputed #1 team in the country right now.
- Texas-Oklahoma State was a great game...at least the last 7 minutes were that I watched.
- Arkansas may have the worst team the SEC has seen in a long time. It's one thing to get your ass beat when you have little to no talent. Doesn't Arkansas have quite a few guys that could play in the NFL? Including an NFL-caliber QB? Losing 58-10 against Texas A&M?
- This week is a litmus test for Auburn. Forget about winning. We definitely have to win this game at home. But the true litmus test is can we have this game won before the clock strikes 0:00? Or will it be a last second thriller? Last second thriller would be an embarrassment against a putrescent Arkansas program.
-
- Something else - Tennessee gets a bye-week before going to Miss State, whom I think they can beat. That's going to set up a very big Alabama game in Knoxville, which, yes, I do think Tennessee's offense can compete in.

- Hey! That's bullshit!

Alabama sleepwalked through that one and still had not one doubt they would beat ole miss. That actually tells me how good they are. They weren't up for that game. They are still the best team in the country. Ole miss is improved from last year though.

Holy. Shit.

Holy. Shit.
Could have only been topped if he had looked in the camera after, smirked, and said "Row Tahd."
-
I would be shocked if that was the first time I had seen that happen.

I have heard stories from the old man about this shit happening in the '70's, but I haven't actually seen it so obvious....
-
Holy. Shit.
No shit, HOLY SHIT! Thing is, if it was 50-0, late in the 4th, I'd get them trying to "move the game along". That was at 13:34 in the first! And they've GIVING bammer yards and 1st downs. Fuckin' shit! Not that it would do any good, but someone should forward that to the SEC office. Of course, I guess that's who is telling these striped fucks to give bammer all they can without being obvious about it. But fuck, that was blatant.

3 words. Steve Fucking Shaw.

I don't buy that. I think this dude just has too much Bama in him...

Yea but I'm sure the SEC head of officials/Uat grad, Steve Fucking Shaw, will give him a stern lecture about not being so obvious about looking at the first down marker when giving UAT a 1st down. Probably tell him to know where the 1st down marker is before even attempting to spot the ball next time.

I can't bring myself to think that the refs are seriously willing to give Alabama that much of a blatant advantage.
However, the conspiracy theorist in me wonders if the SEC determines who the best two or three teams are in the conference and then tells the refs to help them go undefeated to give the conference a representative in the BCSCG.

If so, then they really need to talk to those guys about the INT by Lester that they gave back to Ole Miss. His foot was in the sideline and kicked up turf before the ball came out, and they gave it back to Ole Miss.

Did you watch the video? Do you have another explanation why, the ref originally had his foot set to mark the ball, then cocked it towards the marker once, then finally had to turn around find the marker, and move his foot that way again to spot the ball? Give me the bammer spin on how what he is doing isn't GIVING bammer inches they need for a first down that they didn't earn. Don't want to hear about some other call. Tell me what's going on in the video.

Oh, I never said I disagreed with that video. That does look bad. I saw it when it happened and was like "Got lucky on that shit". I was replying to the conspiracy end of it. That spot was blatent, sure. The touchdown call was correct. I didn't necessarily agree with the call on the Lester INT, but didn't find it to be egregious either.

The ole "but we got cheated too" defense...

Not saying it's OK, simply saying that I don't think there was some huge conspiracy in that game since there appeared to be bad calls both ways. It seemed like a pretty evenly called game for the most part, with the exception of that spot. Each team had two penalties that combined for 23 yards.

Bad calls are one thing. You can blame that on ignorance. But this shit was blatantly cheating...

Exactly.
RWS is poo-pooing that as if it was simply your run-of-the-mill bad spot.
A simple "bad spot" does not involve nearly breaking your neck to check the spot before moving the ball blatantly a yard past the already bad spot you set with your foot...

Look. Clearly the camera was leaning to one side. It's not that you saw him change the position of the spot. It's just that the camera is leaning.......

Must be the same camera that makes Sabinz look 6' tall.
