Title: Big Hits, SEC Suspensions
Post by: Townhallsavoy on September 11, 2012, 10:23:47 PM
This kid was suspended for this week's game after this hit:

Flag it.  That's fine, I guess.  Suspending them the next week?  That's pussy football.

Auburn's defensive players aren't going to have to worry about hitting too hard and getting suspended.

Fact.
Coach Chizik does run a ”tight ship” regardless of all that off of the field baloney.

Bullspit! He led with the shoulder correctly. The only thing they could get him on was a defenseless receiver. Had the guy caught the ball (like the DB thought) then would a flag have been thrown? This one is on the QB. No suspension should be handed down. This is just another step after the PSU power grab.

Yep.

I saw a picture from the NFL games on Sunday.  It was Trent Richardson lowering his head and bulldozing an Eagles defender.  Smashed the top of his helmet right into the guy's chin and sent him flying.

Why is that not a penalty?  The defense does the same thing to stop him, and it's a penalty, fine, and suspension.

Agree. Knocking the shit out of a guy to force an incompletion, and in this case to save a TD, is part of the game. The QB threw over the middle and hung his receiver out to dry. Is the defense supposed to just let him waltz right into the end zone? I get the whole player safety aspect of it, but fuck, its football.

Bullshit....

Look at this HUGE hit by Jake "Fro" Holland.

I like the part where he hits him and falls down having to use his full body weight to drag him down.

He knows what's up. He don't want a suspension!

He is doing this for you. So that your team does not have to do without its MLB for a game.

Seriously though look at how far away he was to get a full head of steam...he should have blown that player up.  This was like the 5th or 6th play of the game.  I saw it real time and thought wtf kind of hit was that.

Jake's internal monologue during that play....

Here I am, hiding in the middle of the field again.  Please, oh please, don't let them run an iso play, I swear that fullback has gotta be 200-205.  Oh God, they snapped the ball!  Pshew, he threw it to a wide receiver.  Gotta run over there like I'm making an effort.  Oh Lord, it's so hard to run when you're trying not to piss on  yourself.  C'mon guys, make the tackle so I don't have to.  Shit!  Don't hurt me! Don't hurt me!  Grab on, don't let go, don't let go.  Thank goodness, here comes some DB's.  Say, those guys are coming pretty fast!  Ohmygodohmygod they're gonna hit me!  Twist around, get him between me and them!!!!  Pshew, they blew the whistle.....How long 'til Coach  :stache: 's wife brings the orange slices at halftime?

It almost looks like he either: shoved him some or grabbed the player with his hands. Either way, ghey.

Actually now that I am sitting here watching the whole play, not just that clip I put of the hit I am

Play starts from the AU 36 yard line.  3 WR's lined up on right 1 on the left.  The QB's first option was the ISO WR on the left he was covered.  Fro's responsibility is the guy that he tackles. (or holds up for tackle help)  The WR runs a 6 yard post pattern.  So at the 30 yard line he breaks right towards the sideline.  This is the WTF moment.  At the 30 before he breaks right Fro is maybe 2 feet away from the WR. Keep in mind fro was already running towards that side of the field.  The WR breaks right and when the QB releases the ball Fro is now 3 yards behind the WR.  I am not gonna crucify the guy, because this is one play and he makes the tackle (albeit for a 6 yard gain) but he is S.L.O.W.

Sad part? Jake was a 4 Star LB rated #8 at his position on Rivals (ILB). He was also recruited and offered by: Tennessee, FSU, Stanford, Miss State, Ole Miss, UCLA.

Why couldn't we have lost a recruiting battle for once?
