Title: Holy Crap

At least we don't have Kiffin...

Quote
Earning a scholarship is every walk-ons dream.

USC walk-on linebacker Will Andrew saw his dream come true when the school awarded him with a scholarship.

Andrew’s dream, however, fell apart when linebacker Simione Vehikite was released from jail last week after serving a little more than three months for leaving the scene of a car accident. Vehikite was driving with a .08 percent blood-alcohol level and sentenced to a year in jail.

After his early release, Vehikite was put back on scholarship by USC head coach Lane Kiffin at the expense of Andrew.

See that would be a look to the Creed offense.  What a P.O.S.

Lie down with pigs and you get filthy.

THIS is why I would strongly object to Carroll, Tressel or Petrino.  THat kind of stink does not wash off.

We're going to need a separate thread where somebody explains Bobby Petrino's crimes to me.  Because I just don't see it.  At all.

Speaking as someone who is closer to 50 than 25 THIS is not a crime:

This is that random daydream you have while sitting in the mall watching the scenery pass, except no genie comes out of Victoria's Secret to give you three wishes to make the daydream come true.

Making up a story and hoping you don't get busted?  Not his most shining moment, but hardly a crime.

What else you got?

I would hope Chizik would hit it too, otherwise, I'd worry.

The Jetgate thing - that is a terrible lack of integrity, not just to fuck over Tubs, but to disregard your own employer.  There are ways to do that right and then there's what Petrino did.

He left Louisville five seconds after signing a contract extension to go to the Falcons.

Didn't even finish a season in ATL to go to Arky.

Hired his fucking mistress over a ton of more qualified legitimate applicants and got busted for cheating on his wife.  Infidelity is one thing - but he HIRED HER.  He fucked over a LOT of other people who were much more deserving of that job.  That is inexcusable.

He's a douche.

Just not seeing the comparison with NCAA scofflaws Tressel and Carroll here.

What PETRINO did? Did he call Auburn or did Auburn call him?  We know the answer to that.  Where was the meeting held?  How many times do you think this happens every year?  Do you think Tuberville told Ole Miss that he was about to go to AU?  What did Chizik tell the folks at ISU after he stunk it up and they went public in support of him? Do you REALLY think Miles never talked to or met with the folks at Michigan?  If Herbstriet keeps his mouth shut, Les is in Ann Arbor right now.  I can't fault Petrino for listening to what they had to say.  And if it hadn't gotten out ahead of time nobody would care.  Finebaum did that.  He got tipped off by somebody close to Tuberville and made sure that got out.

Ok so he left Louisville for a huge contract with Atlanta.  Self-serving?  Yeah.  Probably not the classiest move but I still don't see the issue.  Coaches change jobs.  Constantly.  He could have handled leaving Louisville better.

He could have handled leaving Atlanta better too.  He regretted that from day one and when Arkansas came calling he took the out.

So he sucks at break ups.

As for hiring the chick?  Again not a shining moment but if he's the last 50-something male to be blinded and rendered ga-ga over some 25-year old tight-body puss I'll be surprised.  Since you didn't see the applicant list you can only assume there were a lot of people better qualified.  She might have been the best person for the job and his affinity for her curves was just an added benefit.

No hanging offenses in my book.  But I'm a Methodist.  We're more forgiving.

Seriously dude - quit making sensible points and bringing me over to your way of thinking with Bobby P. Galldamnit! Has it gotten so bad that I've been talked into "not minding" if we hire Bobby MuthaFuckin Petrino in the future?

Hold a presser, hold up her pic, and scream: "HELL YES BITCHES, I HIT THIS, AND IT'S EXACTLY WHY I GOT IN TO BIG TIME COLLEGE COACHING!"

Actually, I hope he'd hit it, and be smart enough not to trash his hog, piece of side ass, and career all in the same day.

Sensible?

Sorry.  I think it's asinine.  Not because I think Petrino should be crucified, but this state is dominated by Alabama media and Saban has the national college football scene by the balls.

Petrino shouldn't be an option.  There's bad history there with Jetgate.  There's bad history with his demise at Arkansas.  There's bad history with him and the Falcons.

If there's one thing Chizik can be complemented on, it's his ability to shove the Alabama-bammer-Nick Saban-Paul Finebaum-media bullshit right back up their asses.

Petrino won't be able to do it.  How could he withstand it?  At least with Chizik, they were talking mostly bullshit.  With Bobby, it'd be facts.  Facts that are twisted and used to negatively recruit against Auburn.

I think it'd be a disaster and play right into Alabama's hands.

I know, and that's my normal train of thought with him too. I think I am just pissed about the situation we have at the moment. Maybe I am the one not being sensible. Just pissed about this season so far. Clouding my judgement.

Never said we would or should.  We won't.  Too much has happened already.

I just don't see him as the pariah that some do.  Wouldn't jump out of a window (or even throw up in a parking lot) if that was the direction things ended up going.  And if things keep going bad we might have to take a risk that nobody would ever have thought possible.

Right now Chizik can't shove anything up anybody's ass.  What you saw on Saturday was worse than any Shula loss, worse than any Tuberville loss I can remember except the Vanderbilt loss (I block losses out so there might be something there that I'm missing), worse than anything I can remember.  Not really so much because it was MSU although that's part of it, but just because we looked so completely and totally inept in virtually every facet of the game.  We looked like the Citadel. Like a HC opponent.  Like a bad Sunbelt team.  It's definitely as bad offensively as the Franklin abortion.  That got everybody fired.

TOTAL OFFENSE YARDS...........      315

know what that is?  Our total offensive yards in the 3-2 game against MSU in 2008.

Saturday...
TOTAL OFFENSE YARDS...........      216
Problem - 114 of those yards were passing in the third quarter when the score was 28-10

Since a bomb to Blake on a busted Climpsum coverage, Auburn hasn't scored a TD in it's last 19 possessions.  We don't have a QB.  That is the root of all our problems.  The root...the cause...the root cause.  It's not playcalling...it's not receivers not blocking or not getting open...it's not the line blocking or backs running hard.  When your QB is so completely out of his league and literally can't hit an elephant at point-blank range....every single aspect of your team will suffer.

Except the long-snapper.  He's our one bright spot.
