Title: Quan Bray hoping for breakout year in Auburn's new offense

AUBURN, Alabama -- Quan Bray gave Auburn fans a few glimpses of his ability last season, mostly in the return game.

Pressed into duty by Trovon Reed's injury, Bray started slowly, but he flashed some open-field ability with a 24-yard punt return against Samford and a 62-yard return he nearly took the distance against Virginia in the Chick-fil-A Bowl.

Now, Bray is coming off of a great fall camp as he prepares to return to the Georgia Dome for Auburn's season-opener against Clemson.

"Quay's a baller," Emory Blake said. "I think he's going to surprise a lot of people."

Bray's versatility and speed in the open field make him the ideal slot receiver in Scot Loeffler's new offensive scheme.

Throughout fall camp, Bray's been routinely mentioned as one of the wide receivers making strides.

He's listed as the starter in the slot on Auburn's depth chart, and he'll be used on more pass routes after being used mostly on screens and short swings last season.

"It's fun, trying to get prepared for the next level," Bray said. "I can go play fast and have fun like I did in high school."

Bray's a bright spot in every practice.

"When he catches the ball on the 20, he runs 80 yards to the end zone," wide receivers coach Trooper Taylor said. "I call him back and tell him he only has to go 30, but then the guys go down and chest bump him and have a good time."

Auburn is hoping Bray can give the team the same kind of lift on Saturday.

Deep in the bowels of hell....

Editor: Guys quick we need a piece about a breakout WR for Auburn

Writer 1: Trovon Reed?

Editor: Already been done.

Writer 2: DeAngelo Benton?

Writer 2: Whoops Nevermind

Editor: No one? Auburn has all these HS receiving studs. Can no one else catch the ball?

Suitor 3: Definitely a jackhammer, I'm in there with some pressure and when I'm done, you're not the same as before. You're changed.

Editor: Would you guys knock off the fucking movie quotes!

Writer 4: I 've got it Quan Bray

Editor: Brilliant!

It's just too bad he won't see the field that much this season, because this is the year Trovon Reed breaks out.  Amirite AWK?

No. Trovon's payment will payoff indirectly in the form of our starting LT...
