Listening to sports talk radio this morning and some guy who covers Climpsum for Rivals was on "breaking down" the game. Usual stuff...look for this guy to step up...new offensive line....defense more aggressive....blah yada freakin' blah. Then the host says the line on the game has stayed around 2-3 points...how do you see it shaking out?
It'll come down to turnovers. Clemson turnovers. If Clemson turns the ball over and makes a lot of mistakes, it could come down to a field goal. If they eliminate the turnovers, Clemson wins easily. Won't be much of a contest. 14-21 points.
The host was a little stunned. Ooooookaaaayyyy....so you think Clemson wins going away?
Now personally, I have no idea what will happen in this game. Too many unknowns. Two new coordinators for AU. An offensive line dominated by first time starters and a ton of freshmen and RS freshmen in the mix. Kalil Frayzher getting his first start...and on and on. But for this idiot to ignore the fact that they are essentially replacing 75% or 5/18ths of both sides of their line, their best playmaker is out, they looked horrible the last few games of the season giving up a ton of points, getting Boyd killed in the pocket and ending the season with an absolute blood-letting at the hands of WVU....and say Climpsum wins easily...in Atlanta?
The blood pressure was up on the way to work.

I think we may have heard the same Einstein. I wish it were recorded and played for the team. He believes if Clemson gets the 75-90 snaps that a Malzahnish offense needs, they win going away.
He isin't giving our D much cred at all. I can understand the unbelief about us not being contenders because we haven't proven anything. But coming from someone that follows a team that was pummeled in their bowl game by WV this was comical. We were bad on D last year but we didn't get 70 hung on us.
If Clemson beats us, I won't be shattered. If they beat us by 14+, I'm going to have a breakdown. It ain't gonna happen. I'm beginning to think we can win by 14+ if we play to potential--even with Dismukes sitting.

I think Dismukes sitting could be big, but don't know. Outside of AU fans, I sort of get why nobody thinks we'll be world beaters, but can't get why they think we'll be worse than last year. They won last year by, what, 14, vs our shittastic defense? They don't have a huge scoring weapon this time around, and don't really have a clue what we'll look like scheme wise. How they come up with an easy win is beyond me.

You can't put anything on the internet if it's not true.

The thing that really gives me hope is the Virginia game last year. I know it has little or no bearing on this match up but it was more the attitude and aggressiveness Auburn played with in that game. As I've said many times, I think that game was more a relfection of how Chizik really wants his teams to play and he, and I think this is a bit of a knock on CGC, was handcuffed by Ted Roof. He let Roof handle things and the results speak for themselves. But when Chizik took the reins, that was a completely different ball club. I firmly believe Corch Porn-stache will have this D playing more along those lines, attacking and actually tackling.
Oh and if anyone thinks the loss of Watkins won't be big....how quickly thay forget he caught 10 passes for 155 yards and 2 TD's last year against AU. Plus, Neiko is gone.

The thing that really does scare me is the fact that the last time out their D gave up 70. There is no doubt they got punked around all spring and summer by the coarches about that, and will come out with something to prove.
Add to that, a redshirt freshman and a true freshman starting at Tackle, with a first time sophomore starting at QB...and things could get ugly fast. Could.

I think CGC put CTR in the corner wearing a dunce cap. The D obviously had CGC running practices because they were bragging about all of the contact that went on at practice. I'm glad Thorpe and Roof are no longer in the picture. The Stache isn't playing favorites.
