9Tommy Tuberville, Texas Tech, third season (13-12)Tuberville’s 13-12 mark in his first two seasons in Lubbock wouldn’t normally be grounds for firing, but when you’re coming off a successful tenure at Auburn and following in the footsteps of a wildly popular coach who won 84 games in 10 years on the Red Raiders sidelines, the expectations are bound to be a little bit higher.
I can see Tubs getting ran out of Lubbock this year. I think he needs to get back to a pro style offense to go along with his style of defense, and TTech isn't the place for that.

I know a guy in WireGrass...
I have it on good authority that they fucking hate Tubs in Lubbock.

Maybe James Willis can recommend a moving company.

One of my neighbors claims to be TT alum and throws money their way. He says he has refused to send a dime and quit going to games 2 years ago. Seems he (CTT) has rubbed a lot of people the wrong way out there. Most feel he is just out there to collect a check so he can coast into retirement.

Funny, I've been doing the same thing since I left Auburn too.

That doesn't sound familiar at all. Not a bit :taunt:

The few Red Raiders that I know still think Leach hung the moon. I think Leach is like Urban @ UF--right place, right time but egomania limits the ceiling. CTT may be coasting but if he can right the ship this year, he's a better HC in the long run than Leach, imo. Just not as snazzy.

I said it from the get-go; accepting the TT job was one of CTT's biggest blunders. In no way whatsoever was this job a good situation for him.

Yup, said the same thing.

What do ya'll think the chances are of Tuberville landing at UT or Arky? Would Arky be interested in him after poor results at TT?

Plenty of ducks to be bagged but Tub's would play hell competing against Malzahn for twenty year old three star partial qualifyers with eligibility. Also I'm perfectly content hearing Rocky Top 1/10 as much as I could be thanks to UT's hiring practices.

Slim and none, IMO. I have a feeling Bobby Petrino will be in strong consideration should UT pull the plug on the Roscoe P. Coultrane experiment. Let's see what Garrick McGee does at UAB this year. If he has any level of success, he will be a contender for the Hogs job.

TT got $10 million?

I didn't think it was that great of a move to go to TT, and it would be a total fail for him to go to UT. He should have slid in somewhere that a coach had a good program and was simply moving on to something else. He wasn't up for a rebuilding job. Now he has wasted his shot. He won't land another meaningful coaching job for the rest of his career. I always liked CTT, but I think he should have just retired after AU. Arky would be a better fit than TT or UT, but I just don't think he has it in him anymore to be what he was at AU.
-
He might have interest from The U.
-
Hear him on a talk show Tuesday. He really laid it on the table about their defense or lack thereof.

Agree with you.
He could have gone out a hero in Auburn. It was just time to go. No hard feelings. Business. He'll still be welcomed back, I'm sure, but it sure would have been of a warmer variety had he not tarnished his legacy somewhere else. Not worth those couple of extra shitty years, and being labeled someone else's Shula/Barfield, IMO.
