Any reliable info on this kid?
I've heard on the skreets that he's done with football and will finish his degree at Auburn. Supposedly, he's still affected mentally and emotionally by the shooting.

I haven't heard that he is done with football but have heard that he is messed up in the head. That is from the bunker so take it for what it's worth.

I understand, but at the same time, someone needs to let him know that life goes on. He has a great opportunity to do something good with his life and football is a great avenue to do that. I would say that getting away from football will be one of his greatest regrets in life as he looks back. Shit is going to happen and there is nothing you can do about it. However, there is something you can do about how you react to things that happen. Quitting something you love because you are shaken up is a temporary solution.

ESPN runs a story about this kind of thing daily - dude over comes illness/death of family member/poverty/etc... and kicks ass on the field. Hell, Mack could be a Gameday feel good story if he looks at his path forward in the right way.

Agree wholeheartedly. Life goes one. That said, it may just be an excuse, and he may not really love football.

I have found that when guys quit football citing some non-football reason, they were looking for a reason to quit anyway.

I disagree. Life is full of adversity. Some worse than others. What does he gain by quitting? Nothing. What does he lose? Well, he quits, and the first time you quit makes it easier the next and the next. Like was said above, it will probably be a decision he'll later regret. I wish him all the best, and I'm sure the coaches have had conversations with him. Fact is, like I said, he's just tired of football.
