Why redesign al.com?

Well, you spoke, and we listened.

You told us how important it is to be able to find news and information about where you live. Delivering that capability is the focus of our new homepage. The “set your local edition” link at the top of the page opens a menu of Alabama regions served by our affiliated newspapers and al.com producers. Select your edition and the site remembers the choice.

OH BULLSHIT, bitch.

This is a fucking template.  They pay for it. They pay a company out of Jersey to do it for them.   al.com just implements new versions when they come out.

They "listened" my flappy ass.  Who do these clowns think they're fooling?

New Jersey kept the old version (for now).  http://www.nj.com  Look familiar?  I guess they just didn't listen when people spoke.  Cleveland.com stuck with the old way, too.  As did Oregonlive.com. And Syracuse.com.

NOLA.com went with the new look a week or two ago.  http://www.nola.com  I guess they just listened faster. Looks like dogshit there, too.

Looks like people who designed Compuserve have found new employment.

Reading through some of the comments I discovered that apparently the biggest bitch about the last site version was that the header was blue and some of the other items were orange.

Fucking clowns.

But that's not why it was changed.  They buy a template from Advance Digital.  That template was updated.  Has shit all to do with "listening to readers" or any of that bullshit PR they spouted.  Lying fucks.

Remind me never to work for advanced digital, they have to have the biggest moronic website designers ever.

First Blue is a primary color, I use it for most of my sites, it is neutral and easy on the eyes. That fucking yellow is horrendous, it seriously makes my eyes and head hurt.

Makes me wonder why yellow was such a popular color to paint school classrooms with once upon a time.
