Title: Chizik on Moseley
Post by: JR4AU on April 02, 2012, 04:52:18 PM
Quote
AUBURN, Alabama -- Auburn coach Gene Chizik said he liked Monday's practice after reviewing an uneven Saturday scrimmage in which the running backs didn't fare particularly well and turnovers were an issue.

He also says in this video that quarterback Kiehl Frazier is doing well while fellow QB Clint Moseley nurses a sore shoulder. Chizik said Moseley needs to return.

"I think that he's got to continue to get better quick," Chizik said. "I don't think there's any question about it. It was unfortunate timing, but the reality of it is you either take reps and you improve or you watch and you're not getting the same opportunity to improve. I think it's a big factor."

If I was guessing, and I am, that sounds an awful lot like he's calling Mosely out for being a pussy.

Calling him out as a pussy, no so much but I def think Coach is letting him know that he is losing the starting position each and every day that this injury prolongs.

He's not outright saying it, but it amounts to as much.

A buddy, by email, said he thinks Chiz is simply easing the Moseley fans in to the reality that he won't be the starter.

But it still reads to me like: "we got 10 more spring practices, and then you got til August to let it heal, if you want to compete for the job, now's the time".

Moseley IS a big gaping vagina.  I don't want to see him on the field anywhere except the sidelines holding a clip board.  We may not have a lot better on the team but I still don't want his whiney ass on the field.

This my first thought but then I'm thinking Chizik could care less about easing any fan when concerning the starting positions. I do agree though that Chizik is telling Moseley that he needs to get his ass in gear and practice if Moseley wants to be the #1 QB. I would seriously hope that he would realize that on his own without Chizik having to tell him. Its not a good sign when Chizik goes public like this to tell one of his players something.

Apparently you don't look at any the rainbow unicorn sites.  There're people out there that think Mosley shouldn't lose the job due to this injury.

Are they playing the "fairness" card, or do they genuinely think Moseley was a viable threat at quarterback last year?

Because that's some fancy Unicorn ganja those people are smoking if they think Clint-the-Stent is going to lead us to glory.

Yeah, they say it's not fair.  I have yet to see anybody that really thinks he's any good, but they still think it's not fair that would lose the job due to injury holding him back.  I got news, it wasn't "his job to lose."  I don't know if he's being held out based on what he says his pain level is, or if he's had a MRI to show something going on.   The tone I get from Chiz seems to indicate he could participate if he chose to.

They say he may not even play on A Day.  I can see the meltdown now when he comes in to camp in Aug. as the #3 guy.

If Moseley is named the starter, I will save a lot of money this season.

I would say you could bank on him being the number 3 guy come fall. Whether Clint is holding back or not, not practing is going to hurt ones chances of a starting gig. I mean what the hell are people thinking?

Also, read where Frazier talks about his sore shoulder from having to throw double, now that Mosely's out...but that he scrimmaged through it.

Damn, I totally read right through but do remember him being quoted saying such.

What I don't get from the Clint Crew is the comparison to Jason Campbell.  They're trying to make the argument that "Campbell was terrible until he was a senior..."

That's totally untrue.  It's held as the gospel by far too many fans but it's not remotely true.

Glory and soul sucking despair look a lot alike to some people.

Campbell was a Parade All American 5 star QB that could have gone to any school. He had a TON of Raw Talent and really didn't get a fair shake his first couple of years with coordinators. As soon as stability happened with Borges, Campbell took off. Moseley doesn't even have a slight % of Campbell's talent. Frazier is more comparable to Campbell. At least we know his ceiling his higher than Clint the mommy part.

Campbell's junior year was basically wasted under Nallsminger.

Campbell had 4 different coordinators in 4 different years I would like to see anyone succeed with that.

Of course I find it ironinc that Wingnut Duckhunter kept Nallsminger around til the end, never fired either. But fired the guy that woke the team up in 2004 after one mediocre year.

Steve Ensminger was the biggest waste of a coordinator we ever had, and we had Greg Knox.  I always thought we hired him as a coach to recruit his son...how'd that work out?

Not true.  He truly learned the art of checking down into a run play that season.

Yep.  Jason was a career 64% passer with 7300 yards, 45 TDs and 25 Ints at Auburn.  Only in his Fr. year did he throw more Ints than TDs.

But, people remember things how they want to.  Facts rarely mean much to a lot of folks.

And like GF said, 4 OC's in 4 years will mess a QB up. It amazing Borges did what he did with him in 2004.
