And, by more than a 20 point spread...

deep south, very Catholic......About as I expected. Doesn't matter though - Romney pretty much has it sewed up.

Of course...  He never really had much of a chance, but with some of his recent wins, I can't help but :poke: a certain Louisiana resident who mocked other states for being so pathetically backwards <read: heterosexual, Christian, white, employed, educated, non-criminal, etc.> to vote for Santorum.  He won in Alabama by about a 5 point spread.  He won Louisiana by more than 22...
:haha:

Santorum won in Alabama by a 5.2% spread and Mississippi by a 1.6% spread to be exact.

I really wish at this point the 3 stooges would drop out. They all smell of desperation.

Santorum is becoming unhinged in what he says in a real bad way. Ron Paul is not with reality in thinking he is really going to WIN. Newt is now charging 50.00 to take a pic with him. Seriously - they are all reaching for some gutter filled desperation. The sooner we accept that Romney is the nominee and move on, the better. He is GOING TO BE THE NOMINEE - Period. Why not go ahead and accept it now and get a leg up on the Nov election rather than wait until August?

That's the biggest spread he's had of the Southern States that he's won; he won Tennessee by a 9.1% spread.  There are a few backwards, Southern states to go including Texas, Arkansas, and North Carolina.  Santorum is ahead by 3% in Texas and 2% in NC in current polls.  There are no polls for Arkansas yet.  The South seems to be coalescing around his candidacy with the exception of Georgia and SC (which went to Gingrich) and Virginia and Florida (Romney).  The big test for Santorum will be Pennsylvania.  If he doesn't win his native state he'll be the only major candidate not to do so.

I might be wrong (wouldn't be the first time) but I have a gut feeling that the three stooges as you call them are going to hang in this race all the way up to the Convention.  Santorum is getting money from supporters and still winning states, Newt is stubborn enough, and Ron Paul has his unflappable supporters who'll keep him in as well.   That doesn't mean that Romney won't get the nomination at the end of the day so to speak.

I couldn't agree more, but their egos won't let them do that.  There's nothing to be gained by continuing.  It's not like Romney would select the #2 spot to serve as his VP.  Taking this to the convention is only going to waste much needed funds.

Romney can quiet a lot of that "to the convention" talk by sewing it up WAY before then.

I'm not 100% cool with Romney, but at this point I have accepted it. If we're gonna have him as the nominee anyway then let's go ahead and do it now and get focused on getting the socialist/spender in chief OUT!
