Izzy Gould leaves al.com on February 27. But he's going to suck that dick as hard as he can before he goes. He's going at that woody like a wolverine with epilepsy.

So why does Saban think his players are more prepared than others for the NFL?
"There's two things: the fact we play sort of a pro-style offense, defense, special teams and sort of approach the things we do the same way the NFL does," Saban said last month.
"But I think the second thing is they make a better transition because we take pride in the fact that we try to teach our guys being responsible for their own self-determination, which is accountability. So when someone defines their role or what their job is they can be accountable to it, and I think that helps them make a better transition in the NFL when you don't have all these support personnel like we do in college around them."

BTW? Auburn has 35 former players in the NFL. Alabama has 27.
Fuck off, Gould.

"pro-style Special Teams"....LMAO.

Is his first initial J?
forgot to mention his sort-of pro-style approach relative to roster management, aight?

Not true. Saban isn't saddled with a salary cap.

Nor apparently a housing or car cap either.

On a Lord Saybinz note...this morning, our local sports talk guy was out so a couple of Bammers took over the show. They were going on and on about how Lord Saybinz was barred from discussing the gray shirt situations for Philon and the kid from Atlanta. "I'm sure he'd have plenty to say and could clear it all up for everyone....but he just can't get the school in trouble by talking about it."
Aiight

Alabama quarterback AJ McCarron was given 30:1 odds Tuesday to win the 2012 Heisman Trophy, set by famed odds maker Danny Sheridan.
Trolling Danny Sheridan for his latest piece.

It just one big fat happy inbred nation. They don't mind a little juice on the chin.

Mike Herndon headbutts Izzy for a chance at Big Al's weiner.

... This is why the suspensions were such a bold step by Crimson Tide coach Anthony Grant. Alabama has a strong No. 32 RPI, but at 16-9 and 5-6 in the SEC, the Crimson Tide has plenty of time to play its way out of an NCAA tournament berth...
...Grant has sacrificed the last two games in order to continue trying to build Alabama's program in the right way. If Green and Mitchell do not return, he may have ultimately sacrificed the season.
For that stand, he is to be commended. Many other coaches would not have made it....
FWIW if Tony Barbee had suspended the starting five Herndon would have drawn pictures of barns burning in crayon and submitted that as his column. Evan Woodbery would hold a parade and write a nine story expose of problems in the basketball program that clearly represent a systemic collapse of the entire athletic department.
Five suspensions would have been portrayed as a harbinger of doom.

So, he has to be commended for it? WTF? You make rules...you tell the players if they break them they will suffer the consequences.....they broke the rules....he suspended them. He has to be commended? Question, numbnuts....how would your column read if you found out players had broken said rules but Grant did nothing? Is it somehow newsworthy and warrants praise that a coach upheld his disciplinary policies?
