Title: Bama Wins World Cup
Post by: Snaggletiger on January 10, 2012, 09:26:25 AM
Who ever said Americans weren't any good at soccer?  Until Rent finally broke one off late in the game, these two teams had produced a grand total of 10 field goals.  I am so thankful I decided to work on remodeling man-pit and installing the Big Green Egg instead of sitting down again and watching that game.  There were a lot of people over and I kept getting field goal updates..but I was more than happy to sip Makers Mark and delicious coke product while doing manly things with the grill pit.

Thats because, although we love our Tigers in teh foosballz, we also have other aspects of our life that do not revolve 100% around football. We actually have diplomas, careers, familys, hobbies, etc. Kudos to you for having other things to do. It shows you have a life. I actually did some other things around the house while the game was on. I would occasionally glance over to see what was happening. Didn't really watch much until the 4th quarter.

I had the game on out on the porch so I could take a look around the corner and kind of see and hear what was going on.  But, my intention was to focus on getting the grill pit done.  Here's the thing.  I was literally pissed at myself for sitting through the first game.  3 hours and 5 field goals between 2 teams that I genuinely dislike.....I wasn't happy.  I was not going to get sucked into that again, especially when I had a project that needed doing and the help available.  If you are a fan of either team, I'm sure 10 field goals in almost 8 quarters was exciting stuff.  Hell, I recall sitting through a 10-0 Auburn win in an Iron Bowl years ago and I was stressing on every play.  But last night.....nope, wasn't going to do it.

I watched until I said fuck it sometime in the 3rd Q, got up and went to bed, knowing what the outcome would be.

Maybe you running after them were stressing them out?

I also did not watch.  Went to bed early and sat and read and watched a movie.  I could hear the cussing from across the house, so I know how things were going.  Not worth it even if LSU had won.

As soon as I got the kiddo down to sleep, I turned on the TV and it was about midway through the 3rd.  I had some shit I needed to do around the house and by the time I was able to watch, there were 7 minutes left in the game.  Jefferson gives up the int looking like a tard, I jump in the shower, get out and see that Rent scored a TD.  Said fuck it, and watched Brad Meltzers Decoded until I fell asleep.
