Charles Robinson, from Yahoo has been tweeting some friendly "heads up, Alabama" type tweets. Sound very much like them letting them know people are paying attention. Literally are saying "we know Alabama will take care of this, but it's up to them to call and have Trent's name removed".
Seriously? Kind of embarrassing for such an ironclad compliance office.

lol
LOL all you want.
I wouldn't want Charles Robinson talking about it if it were my player who had already been connected to one scandal involving illegal endorsements.

Here's a potential NCAA violation for Alabama & Trent Richardson: http://bit.ly/l251Mh (http://bit.ly/l251Mh) See bylaw 12.5.1. No response from @MuscleProdigy.
Based on the appearance of the website, @MuscleProdigy was using Trent Richardson's name without his consent.
Regardless, Alabama is now required to contact @MuscleProdigy to have Trent Richardson's name removed.
The problematic passage: "If you want to get a ripped Muscle Prodigy body with six pack abs like Trent Richardson..." That's endorsement.
Wow. Ok. we crashed the site. I'm going to put up a Twit Pic concerning the Trent Richardson endorsement.
Here is a screen grab of the Trent Richardson page at Muscle Prodigy. http://twitpic.com/7qz17k (http://twitpic.com/7qz17k)
Trent Richardson's name being used in advertising like that is considered an endorsement by NCAA standards.
Again, I have no reason to believe Trent Richardson knew about the advertisement, although it has been there since the summer
Alabama will jump on this Trent Richardson thing, as they did with T-Towns Menswear. This one looks unauthorized.
Trent Richardson shouldn't have eligibility problems, but Alabama is expected to ask that the advertisement be removed.

Annnnnd Muscle Prodigy has changed their page to remove the Trent Richardson passage. And now there is a disclaimer at the bottom. Ha.

It's been pretty funny reading all the hate tweets from bammers about what a hack "journalist" (quotes are theirs) he is.
Keep taunting him, bammers, PLEASE.
-
Bammer:
@CharlesRobinson And your tweets aren't reckless? Hiding behind some "Journalism" cloak. Bullshit! You should have to face the music! #LAME
Charles:
@HogT1de So, you'd rather that stayed up there? You're cool with that?
Bammer:
@CharlesRobinson and do tell..how do you know it's been up since summer?
Charles:
@HogT1de Look at the cached google dates. It was posted in the summer.
Apparently, Alabama fans are ok with people ripping their kids off to sell products. Somehow, I became the bad guy for pointing it out. Ha.

the bammers are "okay with it" because they've been doing that for years...they're just mad that someone found out about it. If I'm a investigative journalist, I'm contacting Rent in NY today to find out how much the Muscle paid him to have his endorsements.
-
It's okay, because the AD sent a cease and desist to @MuscleProdigy in 2009. It was hand
twittered delivered.
-
I gotta be honest.
That "violation" is nothing. If it is, I'm starting a website that sells used Dixie cups and pasting every Bama player's name and picture all over claiming they endorse my used Dixie cups.
