Title: What happened to our Morals?
Post by: AUTailgatingRules on December 06, 2011, 06:26:36 PM
The morning after pill might be offered over the counter.  I don't even know where to start.

I thought Saban was older than that.

I likely don't agree with you on the morality aspect of it, but, that aside...

From a legal perspective, it seems rather contradictory.  We will not give you birth control as an over the counter option, and thus you have to obtain that with a doctor's prescription, but we will gladly give you the Morning After Pill over the counter, despite the fact that it's only a higher dose of the birth control pills that we won't let you obtain OTC.

With such fucked up laws that shouldn't co-existent, it's a wonder why so many people are pissed at politicians.

I think the reasoning is that a one time larger dose has less of a long term medical effect on the individual.

I'm just glad these were not around when I was younger. I would have had a pocketful!

Good point.  Then again, they offer pain pills like naproxen sodium OTC, and long term usage of this medication has worse medical effects than oral contraceptives.  Everywhere you look, contradictory and asinine laws are abound...
