Meant to talk about this earlier, how stupid does Gundy look making the statement about bama should be ranked #2 above them.  I know he was talking about at that point, and he made the caveat that if they beat Oklahoma then he would reconsider, but really was that a smart statement to make?

It is okay to think that but to actually say it, when you are the head coach of a team that is trying to make it to the BCS game.  You know what scratch that, if you are a head coach for the team you shouldn't even think that. 

He should have stated emphatically you're damn right we are the best team and we deserve to be #2.  I don't get it, what kind of loyalty does that show his players?

I think it lit a fire under their asses and produced a 44-10 victory over the rival they could never beat. 

I do agree that it was strange for him to make that statement public, though.  Why allow anyone sitting on the fence to have a reason to vote against you?
