Title: The same motherfuckers...
Post by: Kaos on November 28, 2011, 04:20:01 PM
The same motherfuckers who argued in 2004 that Oklahoma and USC deserved to go ahead of Auburn are today attached to Nick Saban's nutsack like hungry ticks.

The arguments they used then about strength of schedule?  Oops.  OK State has a greater strength of schedule than Bama.  Well damn.

Bama played a lower tier team in South Georgia State.  And they played Kent State and North Texas.  Three teams just as bad or worse than Citadel.   So there should be outrage, right?  Cupcake schedule?  Didn't play real teams like OKState did.  They don't belong.

Florida, MSU, Auburn, Penn State and Vandy all barely made bowl eligibility.  Arkansas and LSU were 10 win teams.  Lost one of those.  The rest of the schedule was a pack of chumps.

But the same fucking butt trumpets -- particularly the motherfucks in state -- are jerking off over a rematch?   So the same logic no longer applies?

At some point I'm going to burn some shit to the ground.

Lou Holthpthpzz thinks Notre Dame still has a shot.

Oklahoma State
11-1 (assuming they beat Oklahoma)
Big 12 Champions
#7 Strength of Schedule
5 wins over FBS teams with winning records
5 wins over top 25 teams

Alabama
11-1
SEC West runners-up
#42 strength of schedule
3 wins over FBS teams with winning records
2 wins over top 25 teams

I'm not sayin', just sayin'.

But Alabama played LSU so close!  It went to overtime!

They're the 2011 version of the 2005 Notre Dame team.  Notre Dame went BCS bowling because they almost beat USC.

Nope. I've heard it on national television, and even on local Louisiana radio.

The voter's hands are tied. There's absolutely, unequivocally, no possible argument with any validity that can be made that Alabama isn't the second best team in the country. Can't be done. It's division by zero.

If OSU hadn't lost to ISU so late in the season, I think they would jump Alabama. If they beat Oklahoma, it will be close. Especially if they beat them soundly. If they were to beat a top 5 Oklahoma, OSU jumps Bama. Not sure how beating #10 will work out. Plus, at this point, OSU only has 10 wins when the computer sees it right now, so things could change quite a bit if they beat Oklahoma. If they don't beat Oklahoma? Well, it's not so controversial then. No other 1 loss team has a better SOS than Bama. If you're going to say Houston, who is undefeated, well their SOS is damn near at the bottom of the barrel. The only ranked team they play this season will be Southern Miss on Saturday.

Weird as hell how everything worked out this season. According to some places, even if LSU lost to UGA, they would only slide down to #2 and would still be in the BCSNCG.

As much as I argued that Oregon had the better record than Bama if we were looking for a rematch just as they let USC slip through their fingers, I'm gonna STFU about Oklahoma State. But until OSU loses to OU, they should be #2.

Unfortunately the other thing that hurts OSU is the fact that the loss was to 6-5 ISU.

The biggest thing that hurts OSU is they don't bring in as much money as Bama will.

OSU has only played 3 opponents who were ranked when the two teams played. Oklahoma will be the fourth when they play. You will get credit down the line for strength of schedule for playing a team that was unranked but later became ranked, but you're not going to get credit for beating that team at the rank they are at the end of the season.....if that makes sense. With all of these accolades, they still lost to ISU later in the season than Alabama lost to a #1 LSU. Apparently, that means something with the system we have. Honestly, I wouldn't be upset if OSU jumped us either way. When you're a 1 loss team, beggers can't be choosers.

And like I said before, at this point, they only have 10 wins as opposed to other teams who have 11. Those two things are probably why they are behind Alabama at this point where the computers are concerned.

I don't think it's a given.

"We're the elite team in the league right now. LSU is good, but we're gooder." -- Alabama's Trent Richardson on CBS, making the case for a Crimson Tide-LSU rematch.
