The wife and I are thinking about taking a trip in December.
Anyone have any recommendations for cabins or locations in Georgia or North Carolina?
We've been to Gatlinburg, but I'd like to try something different and less touristy.

I don't know what your budget is, but the Inn at Biltmore House in Cherokee, NC is really nice. Plus touring the House is pretty neat.

$199/night. Budget is definitely not that high.
But that is a good idea to tour the estate.

Went to a wedding at Wolf Mountain Winery (http://www.wolfmountainvineyards.com/) in Dahlonega, GA.
Stayed in a cabin with a bunch of folks. It seems to be pretty much what you're looking for. A less touristy Gatlinburg.

Helen, GA is always nice. They often have something going on too.

Just got back from there. Always nice. Except for being around a bunch of Uggers after theyve beat you 45-7.

Did they move it from Asheville? BTW - The casino in Cherokee is pretty decent.

Agree. Passed through there Sunday afternoon. N. Georgia actually has a very underrated wine industry. Amicolola falls near Dahlonega is a cool site to visit. Very tall waterfalls.

Yeah, most people don't realize it's really a mobile home. It's a 250 wide.
