Zeke Pike suspended from playoff game

Zeke Pike, considered one of the top high school quarterbacks in the country, will miss the first round of the playoffs this week for Dixie Heights High School.

Pike and two teammates have been suspended from the game for a violation of team rules. The Cincinnati Enquirer confirmed with the school that three players were suspended for the opening-round game. Pike’s father, Mark, confirmed to FOX19 in Cincinnati that one of those players was his son.

Dixie Heights plays at Lafayette on Friday in the Class 6-A playoffs.

The 6-foot-6, 225-pound Pike is considered one of the top 100 prospects nationally in the Class of 2012. He has committed to Auburn.

Pike has thrown for 1,792 yards and 12 touchdowns and rushed for 638 yards and 15 more scores this season for the Colonels.

If you look a little deeper beyond the typical seven on sevens on You Tube that most view, you see a VERY immature young man. I admit I was very excited when I heard he was coming to Auburn but I would say that young Pike is going to be a challenge both on and off the field wherever he lands. Maybe there's still hope.

The passing numbers surprised me a bit. Little 2A Providence Christian down here runs the old wing-T and that QB has those numbers. Now, over 600 yards and 15 scores rushing from the QB position is pretty sweet and encouraging for Malzahn's offense. Anyone know what kind of offense Pike's team runs?
