I thought I would start a thread here for you because there is one like this everywhere else.
So. To all the people bashing Ted Roof, one game does not a career make. You still have time to be right.
Roof's Auburn tenure now consists of five and one half pretty good games and 26.5 cringe-worthy efforts.

Honestly, I told myself last night that Chizik took over the defense a few weeks ago. That defense yesterday - while playing an inept offense - looked very disciplined.
I can't reiterate this enough - we blitzed. We ran stunts. We tackled well. We got off blocks. We were covering Jeffery one on one, and our DBs were turning to look for the ball. We caught interceptions when they were given to us.
We really did play on a completely different level than we did the first four games.

I checked a few other places and found the Creed wavers out in full force shooing all the "bandwagon" fans who had the audacity to be critical of Ted Roof away from the program. Anybody who ever said anything negative about him can go be a fan of Mississippi State because they clearly aren't all in.

Did you notice a lot of Chiz in his ear yesterday? I did. Especially in the last 10 mins.
We gave up 280 yards of offense to a team with possibly the best WR/RB combo in the country - on the road. I'm pleased. But Roof needs to go end of season. It's apparent Chiz's input has improved the unit.

As I noted in the other thread, yes, I saw it too. I saw Chiz flat out dress Roof down on the last SC drive.

The one I saw, it sure as hell looked like Chizik was telling him to do something Roof disagreed with, and Chiz made him make the call. It looked like a pretty heated exchange, and I'm not the only one that saw it that way.

Yep, that's the one. Looked to me like Chiz was telling him something he wanted him to do, or that we needed to be doing, Roof probably said "Corch, I prefer to have my DBs 18 yards off the ball in this situation" and Chiz said "No, dumb fuck, do it THIS way". Then he said "And if you don't this is the last look you see on my face before I turn you in to a pile of ashes with my evil eye death ray."

Maybe someone can find the video, but I don't think he was dressing him down. Chizik seemed to be making a point, but as for the "chewing out" we all think we saw, I don't think that actually happened.
I first thought it was a dressing down but switched in favor of some excited give and take on foreign soil. And Chiz was making his point with both index fingers which most likely indicated the positioning of twin safeties.

Don't see the big deal. I think people are reading more into that than is actually there, based on preconceptions and what they'd like to see.

I saw two guys conversing. No conflict, no "dressing down," no staring, glaring or flaring.
Pffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffftttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttt on anybody who makes something out of that.

Coach Chizik is a very intense coach, always has been. That's his way of telling Coach Roof what formation he'd like to run...and maybe a mix up on the hand signals, when he said "just get it right", then he held up his hands to show Coach Roof what the hand signals should look like.

Not even sure he said "Just get it right". Looked to me more like "Just go away", but I'm pretty sure that's not what he said either.

No biggie. Some of the coaches under CTT said they were normally fired and re-hired 2-3 times each game. If your boss wants you to do it a certain way, you do it or get the frick out.

What I saw Saturday was a well coached football game. I don't know who called the defensive plays and I don't care. I just hope these guys build on this D and not fall back into the same non-tackling bs.
