Report: FSU looking at conference options

Florida State officials are forming an exploratory committee to look at possibly leaving the ACC, the Palm Peach Post reported Wednesday. According to the report, the university hopes to have the committee set up by next week.
"We are going to explore the conferences, what's going on and make sure if anything does happen at Florida State that we are ready," said attorney Andy Haggard, chairman of the university's board of trustees.
Haggard said the university has been discussing realignment options for some time, but will now take the formal step of doing so in a committee.
Many observers believe college football could move to four 16-team conferences once Texas A&M's jump from the Big 12 to the SEC is finalized. The SEC has accepted A&M as its 13th member, but only on the condition that all Big 12 schools agree not to take legal action to block the move.
Baylor, however, has so far refused to waive its right to sue.
Reports surfaced last month that the SEC was considering Florida State, and several other schools, as its possible 14th member. Haggard said the SEC has never approached Florida State and maintained that the school is "very happy" as a member of the ACC.
The Palm Beach Post reported in mid-August that Florida State had been talking to the SEC for months.
The prospect of a seismic shift in the college football landscape has grown this week with reports that Oklahoma will seek to join the Pac-12 if Texas A&M departs.
Texas and Oklahoma State are considered likely to make the same decision, though the Pac-12 has maintained it is not looking into expanding.

I heard this morning that Texas is looking at the ACC. That makes no sense at all.

Heard that too. So would the SEC be looking to add aTm and FSU? Who knows.

For them it does. Go find the weakest competition to compete against.
I would love the SEC in public throw out an invite to UT. You wanna see a Texas size shit. They would have it.

At this point they should just create 4 conferences named SEC, SWC, MidWest, and WestCoast. Take the schools with the 64 highest athletic dept budgets, let them play and determine a conference championship and wild card, play an 8 team playoff (seeded by rankings of said top 8 teams) and declare a national championship. If you school can't sell tickets or compete financially you and the service academies can play in Div 1AA.
For basketball create eight 16 team conferences and do something similar.
For other sports, do what you want, nobody really cares that much.
Go ahead and tell me what is wrong with my idea, you can't because it is awesome.

What the hell are people thinking? Don't know if that's true oor not about Texas to the ACC but if so....you're gonna tell me Boston College is going to fly the track team to Austin for a duel meet? Texas is going to bus the girls softball team 30 hours to Miami for a best 2 out of 3? How about TCU in the Big East? Hey, the golf team is squaring off against Syracuse...somebody set up the travel plans. It's not just football and basketball. All schools field teams in the Title 9 sports and they will be part of the conference too....and play a conference schedule....against teams 1200 miles away.
