On Oct. 22, LSU will wear its 2011 Nike Pro Combat System of Dress uniforms for the first and only time when it plays host to defending BCS National Champion Auburn at Tiger Stadium.

I actually don't think those look so bad, especially after seeing some others of late.

WARNING: A Blog posted photoshops of hypothetical Auburn Pro-Combat unis.

I won't post here for the sensitivities of those who do not wish to see.

Actually, minus the orange jerseys and blue helmets, these are not terrible. Like LSU's, the white helmets and blue and white jerseys are the least abhorrent of the "new" jerseys.

Again though, these are hypothetical photoshops, so no cause for alarm.

Looks horrible.  I'm guess I'm a traditionalist when it comes to jerseys.  I don't want to see any changes at all.

The LSU ones aren't bad.  I was expecting white power ranger after seeing Georgia's abomination.

And the gloves are pretty cool.  I like them.

Only universal thing liked about Nike unis are glove designs. Which only get shown when a player commits an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty.

While I agree that these don't look that bad, the trend disturbs me.  You have to know that Under Armor is all up in the staff's ass about doing something whack with Auburn's uniforms.  They have to be.  The orange and blue, tiger stripes and shit...I know someone at Under Armor has some wild shit drawn up already.   God I hope they don't do it.

They've made minor tweeks already.  The orange and white striped on the sleeves are different.  This year the numbers seem blockier, and the names on the back is smaller.  All that's ok.  They've also changed the pant stripe where is cuts off and comes to a point, and we now have "War Eagle" on the back of the pants at the waistline.  All minor tweeks, mostly ok, but I assure you they want more.

This is a quote from Dye back in preseason team meeting in '92 related by Jason Davis.  "I'll order you some black shoes, put your name on the back of your jersey, and put a drink machine in Sewell, but we ain't wearin' no Got-damn blue pants!"

And that's the next problem.  The players love all that wild uniform shit!

How many 4* and 5* recruits would you trade for different uniforms?

Let the inmates run the asylum you say?

Just a question.  If you knew you could add a couple of big time recruits by wearing a different uniform for say USCe (aren't they an Under Armour team also?), however gimmicky it would be, would you really mind?

Also, if you were made of hot dogs, would you eat yourself?

The uniforms as a whole aren't as heinous as most.

The gloves kinda have a drag queen element to them, though.

Auburn's white unis are too good to change.

I don't mind the subtle changes so much but when you see a Maryland player (diva that probably earned $300 extra for wearing it) in one of those full length tortoise-shell arm wraps it starts getting creepy.

They are called uniforms for a reason.

Don't want to look like Denver and still hate the Bengal's helmet.

I might go for a blue helmet or a different stirrup sock but I'm good with the traditional pant/jersey look.
