Title: Salt Lake City
Post by: RWS on September 06, 2011, 11:26:55 AM
I will be going to Salt Lake City for 5 days in a few weeks. I will be staying near the Salt Palace Convention Center. Anybody familiar with the area that could give me any insight? Is it a pretty decent area, or am I gonna have to cap a Mormon, etc...?

I've never spent any time in Utah.  I hear good things but hell every area has a slum.

Nicest, cleanest city I have ever been to.  Of course, that was pre-Katrina and pre-Olympics.

The MTChoir has a rehearsal open to the public on, I believe, Thursdays - that's a must see.  And take the public temple tour - there's not much hard sell, and the place is beautiful.

I don't trust Mormons.  They remind me of Albinos.  Make sure you don't turn your back on any of them.  Don't drink anything that you didn't open yourself.    They like to pretend they're harmless, but they're really subversive.  You need special glasses to see it, though.

If none of you bastards have ever been to SLC, you need to go. Absolutely beautiful. I don't like big cities, but I really liked SLC. If you stay downtown, you are totally surrounded by mountains. Very nice view if you have a room on the upper floors of a hotel. It was a little bit of an adjustment going from 8 ft above sea level to 4800 above in one day, but the weather was great.

He probably ran off with another Miss Universe pagent winner in his new BMW.  Don't know.  I think some tried to get him on here early on but he apparently declined.

Yeah, I'm not so sure that he wouldn't be eaten alive here. Not sure if his dog could handle the initial exam either.
