Title: Dismal Auburn news
Post by: Kaos on September 04, 2011, 08:43:00 PM
From PMarshall:

From our search of player moves in the NFL, seventh-round draft picks offensive tackle Lee Ziemba (Panthers) and Zach Clayton (Titans) have made their teams' 53-man rosters.

None of the Tigers who signed as free agents, however, managed to hang on.

Center Ryan Pugh (Panthers), wide receiver Darvin Adams (Panthers), defensive lineman Mike Blanc (Chargers), cornerback Demond Washington (Chiefs), linebacker Josh Bynes (Ravens), offensive lineman Mike Berry (Patriots) and offensive lineman Byron Isom (Vikings) have all been cut. Safety Zac Etheridge (Raiders) and wide receiver Terrell Zachery were cut earlier. Running back Mario Fannin (Broncos) is on injured reserve.

Those who have been cut can be re-signed as practice squad players or picked up by other teams.

Former Auburn defensive end Antonio Coleman was cut by the Bills, for whom he played last season. Former Auburn wide receiver Montez Billings was cut by the Saints.

Happy for Ziemba and Clayton.

REALLY hate it for Pugh and Bynes.

Darvin probably should have known better, but in his defense I doubt he could have much improved his stock by staying either.

So he might as well have stayed in school, got his degree and have a backup for when he DOESN'T make it in the NFL. Now, he has NOTHING.

He's young, he can come back to school, and will if he's smart.

So...the "HBO 12" should be coming on within the next month or so? Awesome.

Darvin was hired back for the practice squad.

I'm surprised Billings & especially Bines got cut and will be surprised if they're not brought back on to the practice squad. Those are just the ones I've specifically seen positive commentary and articles about. There are probably others just as shocking.

Still surprised about Adams' whole situation.

I always thought he was underrated in college and would prove a lot of people wrong in the pros.
