AUBURN, Alabama -- Coach Gene Chizik said he saw a lot of mistakes in Auburn's 42-38 win over Utah State on Saturday. Mississippi State coach Dan Mullen took a different view Sunday.
Mullen, who plays Auburn on Saturday in Jordan-Hare Stadium, said he saw a dangerous team in the Tigers.
"A lot of big-play ability," Mullen said in a teleconference.
"We're going to have to play a top-level game and clean up a lot of mistakes we made."
Whatever mistakes were made must have been comparatively small, considering the Bulldogs beat Memphis 59-14 last Thursday.
How big is Saturday's game to State? Mullen said it "will determine how we play in the SEC this year."
Mullen said he was impressed with the way Auburn came back to beat the Aggies.
"They scored 42 points against a really, really good football team," Mullen said. "They're defending national champs and found a way to win. I take it we'll have our hands full against an excellent football team."
Mullen was asked about his relationship with Chizik in light of the recruitment of Cam Newton late in 2009. Mullen said he has not discussed Newton's recruitment with Chizik.
"The Cam Newton situation ended for me about two years ago...except when we played them," Mullen said. On Chizik, Mullen said, "Gene is a good football coach and I imagine he does it the right way with his program. None of that would ever be a factor, in my mind."
Overall, he said, "I never really see Gene much. Our paths never really cross much."
He said they spoke during SEC spring meetings.
"I congratulated him for winning the national championship. Besides that, I really haven't ended up crossing paths with him in my whole career," Mullen said.
**State suspended five players before the Memphis game. Mullen indicated they'll be available for the Auburn game.
"We'll announce that on the day of the Auburn game. We expect them to play," he said.
The five suspended are defensive tackle Fletcher Cox, offensive lineman Blaine Clausell, quarterback Dylan Favre, linebacker Chris Hughes and reciever Malcolm Johnson.

Wow, even Prowler only gave them one "really"
-
Coach speak.
That said, Auburn isn't as bad as we looked Saturday, and if we beat State we won't be as good as some say after that.

Wrong. I said that they're a pretty fuckin salty team and later, after rws completely misread everything and stated that I said since they had Samoans and Tongans at nearly every position that I meant that they were REALLY REALLY GOOD, I corrected him...like I usually have to do all the time and I said that they were a real good team. Really Really Good > Really Good > Real Good > Good > Pretty Good > etc. I'm sure Coach Mullen meant that they were a real good team, not world beaters (Really Really Good would be a Oklahoma or uat type team).

You better hope like hell that MSU doesn't have any Somoans on their team, or they will fuck you up. You're going to shit your pants when Alabama busts out their secret weapon in the Iron Bowl.....the All-Samoan defense. You guys are FUCKED.

I'm not worried about MSU.

Even if AU loses to MSU, I wouldn't think that is anything to be embarassed about. I know they only played a shitty Memphis team, so it is all relative. But they looked pretty fucking impressive. Teams are different. For all we know, AU just had alot of first game jitters, and that shit is out of their system now. They may come out and dominate all this season. Who knows. Not that my opinion counts at all, but I think I will wait another game or two before passing judgement.

Bullshit - Samoas are sold by Girl Scouts, and $aban is exclusive with Little Debbies
SKREETZ, BITCH

I wasn't, but now I am.
The only thing I like I about it is that it's in JHS. Other than that i am suspicious about the players returning and this bunch of shit that Mullen just spewed above sounds like what coaches say when they think they are going to beat the fuck out of somebody but don't want to openly say so.
Fuck.

I'm going to wait until after the third game to make my final predictions...it's not going to be all about how I think Auburn will do, it'll be about how I think the other teams, on their schedule, will do. Start of the season I thought it would be South Carolina then everyone else in the East...now, I'm not so sure.

Let Coach Mullens and his cocky Cockeyed Self think that, I hope his players think that too.

In other news, Joe Schad reported that according to sources Megan Mullen has purchased every bottle, tube, jar and vial of Anal Lube, KY Jelly and Vaseline within 150 miles of the city of Auburn.
She told the clerk at the X-Mart Adult SuperCenter in Montgomery that "Danny wants it to hurt and hurt real bad."
Silkky Summers, the X-Mart clerk, says she told Megan what 187 bottles of lube would cost she replied "the money's not too much. Not at all."
Summers said she didn't bother to tell Mrs. Mullen that lube, when applied properly, would reduce the likelihood of pain.

Y'all buncha fraidy cats...lmao, told ya.
Btw, Coach Cockeyed Mullen didn't shake Coach Chizik's hand after the game. Add that to his arrogant attitude and the "our headsets don't work" bullshit (eventhough one of their coaches still had his on), luckily Coach Chizik pointed it out to the refs and he was made to take them off.

Elaborate. I missed this apparently. Could have had something to do with how drunk I was at the end of the game.
I heard someone else mention this too.

My wife noticed it. I didn't see it at all, and my wife isn't exactly the most observant person concerning football.
But she swore when Mullen was complaining to the ref about his headset not working, there was a guy standing near him talking into a headset.

^^This^^
When it was explained what was going on, they not only showed a MSU coach wearing and talking into them, but they also showed the MSU coaches in the box wearing and talking into them.

Fuck Mullen, and fuck State. I saw all that shit too, and there's no way to know if they were faking it or not. I didn't see anybody talking in to them, but if Mullen didn't shake Chiz's hand, he can eat a bag of dicks. It's his fucking problem he heads up Mississippi fucking State. It's his problem he bought in to unrealistic expectations for his mediocre program. It's his problem $180 isn't enough to buy the services of Cam Newton to play at State. Fuck him and feed him fish heads!

There is no doubt in my mind that the whole Cam deal fucks with Mullens head. There is no doubt in my head that he has had something to do with the whole NCAA aspect of things. Also, there is no doubt in my mind that Auburn beating Florida when he was OC fucks with him either. Thats why Auburn beating MSU by a goalline stance makes me fucking happy because he tried to beat Auburn the way he was beaten last year. FUCK Mullens!

Another thing. The guy next to me had enormous binocs. You could see people's teeth on the other sideline.
AFTER they did all the bitching about headsets one of their fuckers went and hid behind an equipment box ... and stayed on the fucking headsets yapping away.
Fuck those douchebags. Fuck them all.

Seriously???
That's something that should be brought to Mike Slive's attention, if not him, then bring it to Scarbinsky's attention.

When Chiz was screaming because their guys still had headsets on, one of theirs hauled ass and got behind the players and a box. Sure looked to me like he was talking into the headset.
I've since heard that Mullen's complaint wasn't that they weren't working but that AU was "intercepting their signals" How he would ascertain that I have no idea.
Yeah. We played every down like we knew what was coming. That's why we gave up 11,381 yards.
I checked out a MSU board just for laughs. They are bleeding from the rectum and foaming from the mouth with rage over being cheated.
I'll have to admit, though, I see the point a little bit. The first down on the 92-yard drive? Even I could see he was going to be short. From 40 rows up I could see the gap between the ball and the stake and I was dead even with it.
I will also say for the record that I am no fan of Dyer in the wildcat formation. Unless he demonstrates the ability or inclination to throw the ball they're going to send 11 defenders in a massive swarm right into the heart of the line. No reason not to. Dyer in the wildcat is going to start being a guaranteed five yard loss.
