God what idiots.
"Clint Moseley is the anti-Kodi. You could tell be was devastated. You have to wonder if he will consider a transfer. Maybe somewhere closer to home."
What is close to Leroy?
-
Southern Mississippi.
Of course, Tuscaloosa is also closer than Auburn, and Baton Rouge is about the same distance as Auburn, but I don't think either team would take him.
-
"Can you believe how Chizik just screwed this kid over? I mean, all of the media was reporting that it was neck and neck. The competition wasn't over, and Chizik just went with Barrett Trotter for no apparent reason. Probably because Trotter had a higher star ranking in recruiting, and we all know what that means. More money from the bagman."
-
"Auburn" media with all the quotes, videos, reports of teammates comforting him, are just making this harder than it has to be. They are creating a controversy just like they did with Kodi Burns. Who needs enemies when you have frienemies?

Got some links. I would like to see these.

@HABOTN "I don't say this often, but that was an emotional moment watching Clint Moseley answer questions. He's a man. Takes guts."
- Editorial note: Jay G. Tate was rooting for Moseley in a big way.

I realize some of the media have favorites. It happens. But all of this is making it appear like Auburn may have locker room split over this and that Trotter was handed the position because he held the clipboard longer. That's not accurate in my opinion but when has that stopped the media for throwing Auburn under the bus.
-
I'm guess I'm too dumb to see how they are creating more of a controversy than what there already was.
The most popular and best player on every football team when shit goes wrong (as it will this year) is the 2nd string QB.
What would have been said if the decision had been reversed? I suspect most of the same people would be saying the same thing with only the name changed.
-
I wish they would have left the kid alone. He wanted the job and you could tell he put his heart into it. Hopefully this will motivate him to become an even better QB.
-
If Moseley was devastated who could blame him? By all accounts he might get moved down to 3rd string before the season is out. Trotter is a junior and the guy who could be starting before the end of the year is a true freshman. Next year you have a top 5 QB recruit coming in. Barring injury or being the holder for the field goal unit Moseley just saw his chance to ever play a meaningful snap for Auburn gone.
I feel for the guy and would not be surprised if he transfers to a DII school.
-
Meanwhile Alabama has more talent at the QB position than they've had in the history of the program. Will be hard to choose between two potential NFL starters but the coaching staff has proven it can make the tough decisions in the best interest of the team.
That was the segue here.

Id like the job too. Pays better than my state job, and lots better pussy. But it will never be. Im crushed.

I'd like to see Neil Caudle have a sit down with him.

Its Jay G Tate. Guy's a fucking weirdo. I hate his writing.

A coaching friend of mine said it’s standard procedure to give the older player the job
when two players are equally capable. I believe that’s what happened here.
Nope, the coaches believed that Barrett gave Auburn the better chance to win. Of course they could be wrong, but I definitely would not bet against them. Here's something that Auburn "writers" won't say, is that Mosley somewhat went into a shell and sulked around last year and wasn't putting forth the effort needed to be a starter for the upcoming season....I'm sure the coaches took that into consideration when making their decision.

Thoughts from the crapstain: http://capstonereport.com/2011/08/19/trouble-in-the-fambly-gene-chizik-throws-clint-moseley-under-the-bus/13118/
Well, as usual, the bammers, with their focus squarely on Auburn and not on their own team that is billed pre-season to win it all, make choosing a new starting QB to be a major riff within the family. And, as usual, they can't even spell family. Now, mind you, when the winner between Simms and AJ McBrodie is chosen, they'll eat their own and suggest openly that the loser should get the fuck out of Dodge, because all second string QBs aspire to transfer, or should. Nicky and Co. will have done what's best for the soon to be nashinul champs, while Chizik is the anti Christ for making such a decision, and throwing him under the bus for letting the kid speak to the media.
By the by Clint...nobody really expected you to be in the mix at all, and you're an Auburn man, but it's a QB battle, and there's only one per...you did great, and you could actually get some playing time...doubtful, but you could. Frazier and Pike won't even let you compete the next 2-5 years, and you need to talk to Neil Caudle now and get a handle on whether you need to t'fer and reap the benefits of being "the man" at some mid major whipping boy of a program, or "suffer" through 4 years of "Auburn #2 QB pussy". Look, they might have a couple of chics in Rustin, LA that look as good as Auburn women, but the reason they're their is because they could spell Clint if you gave them the C and the T, and 3 dates to learn the rest. I mean, how sweet can life get? Some of the finest pussy on the planet, no pressure, and everybody thinks you're, at the very least, 'cute', if not the guy that should be playing.
Oh, and Clint, I'm not a bammer that thinks every QB race is a "loser leave town" event. And, I won't call a kid that has great emotional investment in this great game, and Auburn Univ. a "crying bitch" like they do.. Seriously, dudes can cry, and it's ok. I admire your effort, emotional/personal investment in the effort, and I applaud the fact that a guy I thought would never take a meaningful snap at Auburn as a QB actually competed for the job. I loved Caudle, and Burns, and will embrace you as well...if you maintain your "Auburn Man" demeanor. Best of luck Clint.

I was mildly surprised that Caudle and Trotter both stuck around between the games that Burns started and the advent of Cam. It turned out well for Auburn that only Rollison transferred.
We should not expect every candidate to accept disappointment in the same manner or even with dignity, which is a word thrown around by non-competitive spectators. Moseley didn't handle it well last season and he rededicated himself from the spring on winning it and I'm sure he thought he had earned the starting job.
We do not know how any of them will react against good teams without the benefit of orange jerseys. Trotter had less than a dozen snaps in actual games and that probably played into the selection, much the same as it is with McCarron in Tuscaloosa. But neither have been "the guy" when it counts and I sense some growing pains along the way for both.
Auburn was rough on opposing quarterbacks last season and I would be totally shocked if any of our guys (not named Newton) could go through an entire season without being banged-up significantly. The odds are against it and in this league, three might need to play. It doesn't have to be indicative of how the season is going in terms of wins or loses as much as it is the demands put on a body.
