Title: Doug Gottlieb: A&M "envy"
Post by: Kaos on August 13, 2011, 02:28:48 PM
ESPN = bunch of bitches

The A&M decision to move to SEC in 2012 is now being reported as a done deal despite the fact that there's a reasonable chance the SEC presidents will vote against the move.

Doug Gottlieb of ESPN characterizes the move as "deep seated envy" of Texas, diminishing his network's major role in precipitating the move.

Fuck ESPN.  I hope they end up with a Longhorn network that has no conference affiliation and UT belly flops into an abyss of mediocrity.  Just like the Notre Dame/NBC deal bore nothing but a miserable string of pissed off leprechauns.

The SEC now likely will pursue Florida State, Clemson and Missouri, a source told ESPN's Gottlieb, though Missouri athletic director Mike Alden said the school was not in talks with any conferences about a possible move.

Clay Travis (laugh all you want) is speculating that these rumors were pushed by those who don't want to see the A&M deal go through.

They're hoping presidents will be scared of the other three teams the SEC may go after and vote against it.

I can't imagine Florida and South Carolina wanting to add teams from their state to the SEC.
